The food has been inconsistent recently. From really amazing to downright scary. The smell of the chicken chow fun was horrendous we could not eat it. I will not describe it here. Dumplings smelled like cardboard and other dishes had an off smell like not fresh or as if stored in a basement.
I called and complained and they initially said they would refund me. Refunding the chow fun would have been acceptable. Then they called me back and asked me to drive it over. Telling me it was the bamboo that can sometimes smell horrid. Why use bamboo then? This is kids food. I live 20 min away. One of my kids goes to school near there so they get it. I’m not wasting an hour for $30 of chow fun on a $120 order of mediocre food. He then hung up on me. That’s Terrible customer service.
I absolutely hate to write negative reviews and prefer not to, however, this was downright horrible customer service to hang up on me. I added a photo and of what we thought about the chow fun. That’s in my garbage can. We considered it unfit for human consumption.
Original review from 2022: Consistently good food. Chicken chow fun was amazing. Excellent Young Chow Fried Rice. I have ordered multiple times and it’s been good each time. Everything looks very fresh.

Prices are decent, staff is friendly...
Only giving 3 stars bc of their coupon policy... I just ordered $37.72 worth of food, asked for the free wontons since the total was over $30.00. They told me they can't do that bc I have a lunch special of $5.95 in the order. I asked, Say I ordered over $100.00 worth of food and only had 1 lunch special in the order we still wouldn't be able to get anything? The owner said - No you can't because you have a lunch special included in the order. Are you flipping serious??? When a customer orders an amount of food over the coupon amount before the lunch special order is included you should honor the coupon. I've been in the restauarant and bar business for a very long time and this is ridic....
Special note to Hau Po: The company I work for has over 1,500 employees within 9 buildings in the Hauppauge Industrial Park. My building alone has over 20 employees who order chinese at least once a wk. Being cheap to your customors will only hurt...

The people there are very friendly. The restaurant is clean. Some of the food leaves a lot to be desired. The fried rice has no flavor... It doesn't matter if I order pork, beef, or chicken. There is no SALT, onions or egg in the rice either. It's very disappointing. And the prices are much higher than other places I go to. The other places that I go to, the food is actually tastes Way better and doesn't cost as much. They are the only Chinese place in the area, so I guess they don't feel the need to do better. By my job, there is an exceptional Chinese place. But I don't work on weekends... I dined in last week with my mom and 2 brothers from out of state, and they got my order wrong and gave me something spicy, which made me sick.
