My wife took me there as a late Father's day dinner. It was a surprise of a new restaurant that we had never tried before. I was pretty excited to try. We walked in and the place was a little less than half full. We were seated immediately, given menus, and the bread came out shortly after. We were given ample time to review the menu, and put them down as we had made our selection. There seemed to be two waitresses working a total of several tables. Uncertain as to why, but we seemed to immediately be their least favorite table. Aside from the bus boys, the waitresses paid us no attention. They did however, walk past several times to check the same table behind us, not just one, but both waitresses checking on the same table. I tried to smile so they would come over, but they refused to turn their head in our direction even. As i ate a piece of my semi decent bread, i waited to be asked if we would like anything to drink, or if we were ready to order, but it never came. Not even someone acknowledging us, and letting us know they would be over to take our order. Honestly, for the amount of people in the place, it was absurd. It is a pizza place at best, and possibly we were hispanic, or had a small child, the two waitresses avoided eye contact altogether. Shame on them. On a positive note, we ate at Robke's instead, and I am positive that the food was much better, so maybe i should be thanking...
Read moreWent there with another couple and my girlfriend and I ordered the Tri Colore salad. The grilled chicken on the salad was undercooked and tasted rubbery. The waitress offered to make us another one, but by then I was so turned off so I opted for a slice of pizza which was mediocre. My husband ordered a chicken entrée and was given a choice of a salad or pasta on the side. He opted for the salad which never came until he reminded the waitress several times and she brought it to him when we were leaving. My girlfriends husband ordered a veal dish which he said was practically inedible and he opted to have the pasta instead of the salad on the side. He ordered the pasta w/garlic and oil instead of the marinara sauce. When we got the bill he noticed that an additional charge of $3.00 was on it and when he questioned the waitress she told him that the add charge for was garlic and oil. He told her that she never told him there would be an add charge. She didn't seem to care at that point and still kept the bill the way it was. I guess she felt so guilty that she proceeded to give him the $3.00 out of her tip money. At that point he didn't want it and shooed her away w/ his hand. Needless to say we will never return to this establishment and I will tell every one that will listen to me not to patron Intermezzo either. The owners should be ashamed of themselves treating customers this...
Read moreSince new owners took over this restaurant has gone down hill. We had a horrible experience when they first opened, gave them a second chance a few weeks later and food was inedible. Decided to try a 3rd time last night. The place was packed which should be a good sign. It wasnât for us. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was awesome and attentive despite the fact that she was stretched thin. We had excellent cocktails and a mediocre fried calamari app. We then ordered a pizza to share. We heard the manager at one point question whether a pizza was take out or dine in. No one knew. After waiting a half hour with no pizza, we asked the manager where our pizza was. He asked if weâd ordered a âserpicoâ, which we did, and he quickly brought out our now cold pizza which had been sitting in the kitchen. We tried to eat it, but why bother, it was cold. The manager then told us he was going to cover our entire check. He took it from us, and then returned it to us with the pizza deducted. He offered to cover it, we didnât ask, and then he didnât. The bartender who seemed to be the only person who really knew what was going on, handed us a gift card and asked us to please come back, was wonderful. Three times, with awful food experiences, we wonât...
