Do not recommend visiting at night. Dangerous incident. No security.
I grew up in Ronkonkoma, so I try to visit Little Vinny’s when I’m in the area. Also known for late night hours, so it was perfect after late night golf. My visit was on 7/10 after midnight.
Upon entering it was not busy, but most tables were full of patrons. I’m very understanding that late-night sometimes means staff tired from a long day. I excused the delay, having to check at the counter if the 3 cold slices were ready - they were.
When I started eating my pizza, that’s when the harassment from patrons began. A male customer instigated his female friend to take my slice. She responds, “I’m not rude that way.” He continues to instigate other people. Turning back to the first female, she says to him, “I’d rather just wait for the pie. Let’s wait for the pie.” This continues until I hear another male in their group say, “China…” Then a few look my way.
I’m now feeling very uncomfortable. I look around to see we are the only people not white. I get up to use the restroom. Upon returning, the walkway is blocked by their group. Although clearly seeing me, they barely let me in. I have to say, “Excuse Me” a couple times, raising my voice the second time.
I got through only half a slice, until it became unbearable to endure anymore.
This is my childhood area. I am a former restaurant owner. I am a seasoned commercial real estate broker. I am very active in the Long Island community. This was not okay. This is not safe.
*Sadly, I’ve seen a few posts of racism at this establishment: For those who have experienced Hate Crime remember it is Unlawful with Legal consequences. And remember, while there is freedom of speech, some speech (or jokes) doesn’t mean freedom from...
Read moreBest original plain pizza in all of long Island, I still go here even though I moved out of Ronkonkoma over a year ago, totally worth it! They also have amazing chicken parm heros, don't miss them! The food aspect of little Vincent's, I give the full 5 stars!
The only down side here is that they are cash only, which is why I lowered their overall reading to just 4 stars. I find this to be absolutely crazy that they still don't accept card, especially when they can easily get a square device for approximately 10 bucks and immediately begin to accept credit cards. I'm guessing they don't want to spend the few percentage or costs to the credit card companies to swipe the card, but it's a real shame because they are missing out on a good portion of business that would undoubtedly more than make up for the slight loss in profits forfeited to the credit cards companies many many times over. Even knowing how amazing they are, I still very often opt to go somewhere else simply because of this fact because I either do not have cash, do not wish to make an extra stop at the bank to get any, or do not wish to pay an extra ATM fee. Note, they don't even have am ATM, so in order to get cash, you actually have to go somewhere else to find one, I believe the closest one is a bar across the street, but the least you can do it you are going to be can only is provide people a convenient means of producing cash, since most transactions today are solely digital. This is a relic and I hope they will change this policy soon, I believe it will open them up to much more business, I know I personally would go there much more often if they begin to accept card (even debit will do, anything other than...
Read moreThis is officially the most overrated pizzeria I've eaten at on all of Long Island and I eat a TON of pizza. From stories I have heard, this place was supposed to have legendary slices. I ordered two regular slices today and boy was I disappointed. The sauce could not be more bland and the cheese was extra greasy and low quality - both a huge let down and subpar for any place let alone one with great reviews. I will say the crust was the best part of the pizza. It was tasty and cooked properly. Not extraordinary, but very solid crust all around. A few other things to note. You can't get a Sicilian, grandma , white or any other specialty type other than some plain vanilla toppings like pepperoni, mushroom, sausage or extra cheese. So dumb. On top of that, it's cash only with a "sorry" sign. You are not sorry. If you were sorry, then you would accept cards. Period. Just don't fake apologize like you're good people. It's unacceptable. Unless you're an other worldly place that can afford to screw your customers bc your food is that good you should be accepting cards. This place is NOT one of them. Lastly the guys behind the counter seemed bothered to serve you. No "thank you". No smile. Nothing. They just take your cash like robots. I'm guessing this place was taken over and not owned or managed by the same people as in the past. It's impossible that anyone who knows anything about pizza could rate this place more than 2 stars. And that's generous bc I don't ding them for the crap service and cash...
