I visited Dero's twice in one week- once for lunch and once for dinner. The food was consistently excellent - home cooked with care and clearly high quality ingredients - with large portions for a reasonable price. Its not cheap, per se, but given restaurant prices these days, it is a VALUE! A particularly nice touch was when you order a wrap it comes out hot and crispy even if you don't have cheese on it. The menu is varied too - lots of sandwich, apps and entree options in addition to the pizza oven, although they have a lot of options for pizza too. And for those with food allergies (we have someone with Celiac), there are plenty of gluten-free and dairy-free options. Its a large space too so the risk of long waits is de minimis with tables inside and out, booths and bar seating. The servers are young local kids and the chef himself will deliver your food if they're worried it will take too long and get cold waiting for the table server. If you're looking for an alternative to a straight pizza place or long waits at the more popular establishments near the beach, this...
Read moreLet me preface saying this is no way the wait staff’s fault, they are doing the best they can. That being said I don’t know why the owners of this place thought it was a good idea to open a brand new restaurant when they are clearly understaffed. Said staff is prioritizing take out orders rather than those of us in the restaurant. My partner and I got here at 7:30 pm, at 8 I had to flag down a waiter to order my partner ordered a soup and the waiter left before we can finish the rest of our order.(which cmon man, if ur the waiter and you are reading this just know I’m not mad at you I’m more mad at the owner of this place) It’s currently 8:40 and my partner has not received their soup yet. No opinion on food as we never got it. Also I’m pretty sure some child labor law is being violated as there is some kid who’s I’m assuming younger than 13...

They had coffee but no cream, only milk. Gross. Daughter ordered orange juice and orange drink came. It was literally Tang - you could see the undisolved granules. Waited a good while for food. Meanwhile one of the owners spent 10 minutes with the table next to us. Maybe he should be focusing more on all the customers there and overall quality. Pancakes came with syrup in packets. Side of fruit was sitting in melted juices because it was clearly frozen fruit. Breakfast for wife and 3 kids was $120. That’s a lot for a family especially when clearly freshness is lacking, corners are being cut, and service is average. Hampton Bays...
