Headed out East and wanting Chinese food, takeout or eat in. Slim pickings east of Nassau County, but we were determined to eat Chinese food especially today (10/23) our anniversary. We were headed to Montauk, so we thought we had a chance. Several Chinese restaurants are closed on Mondays, but that didn’t seem to matter much because very few had greater than 3.4 reviews. Finally we found this one which seemed to be a winner with many positive reviews. So my first question is who’s writing the reviews? I ordered boneless ribs luncheon special, and my husband ordered wonton eggdrop soup with a side of a small order of the boneless ribs. I specifically asked for fatty meat ribs which were rejected because the meat is stored all in one place and they cannot pick thru it for select cuts. Nonetheless, I thought I’d still have a shot. The takeout was very busy which was promising. This was the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had! The ribs were like eating dry leather strips. The pork fried rice was tasteless and stale. The soup was just okay. So I ask again, who’s writing the reviews? I can only guess that the many clientele were there because the volume compared to price ratio was favorable, never mind that literally, they’re the only game in town....
Read moreI bought dinner from this place yesterday. I feel , based on commenters, the lady at the front treats certain people a certain way. She wasn't very friendly to me but didn't disrespect me as other commenters have experienced. The meat and broccoli was good but they burned the rice. It smelled of chard stuck on food. Burned toast in the air. I mentioned while there, someone must have burned something. When I got home, all of my rice was dark brown with the smell of burned/ blackened toasted bread. The taste was terrible. I can't believe they still sold it to me and didn't care about the condition. Especially if the bill was 55 dollars. This is one way to not have returning customers. Inconsiderate . Only...
Read moreAre they looking for good Chinese food to take home and savor? Located just north of the intersection of Sunrise Highway and North Sea Road is Dragon Garden. They do have limited seating inside and a dedicated parking lot if you prefer to dine in casually. They have crispy egg rolls, decadent shrimp toast, delicious dumplings, sweet and meaty spare ribs, and many of your traditional favorites. I particularly enjoy their Chicken Egg Foo Young. The cutlets are succulent and sauce not overly burdensome. They have a delightful, fragrant fried rice and tasty soups too. This is a spot to stop if you are on your way home and want to pleasantly surprise someone at with a nice meal they didn't...
