Krieg's Bakery — Restaurant in Town of Southampton

I came here once 4 years ago and was impressed enough with the quality of the baked goods that now that I am visiting again, I stopped back in. I have been out of the country, and had a hankering for a pecan pie, and I was told that I could order one, which I did. I came in the next day they were open.to pick it up and -- how pleasant to get a fresh-made pecan pie that is still warm! the crust was EXCELLENT!! The lady at the counter (who I learned is the owner´s wife) said to me

this pie will last at least a week. I answered, no, it won´t!

. It didn´t. I polished it off in 4 days. I saw some other reviewers liked the jelly donuts, and they weren´t wrong! They are so nice because they have a real home-made taste, that I cannot compare with any others that I have eaten. I was horrified at the female owners behavior! I have been a patron of cakes donuts and coffee rings for years…and all delicious. I ordered a cake on Sunday to be picked up on Thursday…4 days later. She did not have the order when I arrived at 12:15 pm on Thursday as planned. She was yelling that she did not have a cake and that she had more important things than to worry about my cake. Mind you this was a special order for a retirement party on Friday and no cake to be had at Kreigs! She told me she could make something but I would have to come back in 20 mins. She was yelling about the cake and when it would be done. She did not ask me what kind of cake or what it was for… she just continued to rant. This is really a shame as this bakery serves probably the best cake and danish I have ever eaten. I have to scramble today for another cake. I will sadly NEVER return...

Normally me and my family love their baked goods and recommend them to all our friends, but the Yule Log we got for Christmas was not good. It was advised as vanilla buttercream on the inside, but it was gritty and tasted exactly like marshmallow fluff.

When my mom called to let them know this morning the woman who picked up the phone immediately began screaming at her saying it’s our problem. She was continuously screaming at my mother until a man, I am assuming her husband, grabbed the phone and started talking to my mother in a normal tone, we will sadly not be returning again or recommending them...
