Horrible experience. The woman that manages was very rude, charged me a ridiculous amount for a bag of candy and when I asked about the price she said itâs because she charged me an extra amount based off the amount of candy I ate in the back. I sampled a gummy bear from my OWN bag and instead of telling me, she went into the office and watched me on the cameras⌠very strange, keep in mind itâs the off season, give me a break. Save yourself the trip, and the bad vibes and go to buddha berry instead.
12?? Thatâs absolutely not true. Regardless, I find your justification for arbitrarily increasing my total is unethical. Charging me an extra amount without my consent, based on your own estimation, is fraudulent misrepresentation.
Publicly accusing me of "petit larceny" is completely unacceptable, especially when there was no intent to steal. petit larceny requires intent to permanently deprive a business of its goodsâwhich was clearly not the case. Your failure to properly communicate your policies does not give you the right to falsely label a paying customer as a thief. Iâm local, I constantly support small businesses and am actually very upset by the way you handled this situation. There was no way you couldâve seen the 3 gummy bears I sampled from my own bag as you were not in the room with me and my friends. Calling me a thief over a few pieces of candy is ridiculous.
I see this isnât your first time hearing about this. I suggest you review proper disclosure practices to avoid further disputes. If I had been informed at checkout rather than charged arbitrarily and insulted after the fact, this situation could have been...
Read moreStore manager/owner very rude. Chocolate chips came out of dispenser too fast and she tried to force me to buy all of them despite it clearly being an accident. Overpriced product and place is cheap and doesnât allow for sampling flavors before hand. Store is also dirty - almost stepped in used gum on the floor. Buddha Berry is Sag Harbor and Southampton is vastly superior - better flavors, better staff, better toppings, better store (it actually has tables to sit at)!
Update: Store managerâs response clearly shows her unprofessional and immature attitude. Respectable and ethically run businesses should take ownership of their mistakes and faulty equipment rather than make lies and snarky comments about a...
Read moreI happen to live right down the street from Sundaes on Main and have lived in the area over the past 10 years. I have tried all the competitors in the area and there is not a friendlier owner and better spot than Sundaes on Main. She is the sweetest, most fun to talk to and a local who is improving the community around her. I highly recommend anyone to visit and I promise you will love the setting and the froyo, gelato, sorbet, and ice cream choices put the others in the area to shame. I will continue to support this local small business because of the way it makes us feel when we visit. Thank you for improving our evening walks thru...
