Champions Sports Grille — Restaurant in Town of Southport

We have always enjoyed coming to Champion's, it's close to home and the food was great as was the service, however the last time we went on a Sunday, the food was terrible, the patrons at the bar were dropping the swear words LOUDLY. I feel one of the bartenders should have addressed that issue as there were several full tables. Also the waitress we had was ignoring us, never checked back to see if everything was ok, which it wasn't and when we did tell her she really acted like she did not care. Also after we paid and got home and checked our bill we were charged extra for the lettuce & tomato on my husband's cheeseburger and she insisted he could have fries or chips with his burger when he had already ordered onion rings, well he said fries and then was also charged for them.

Needless to say we feel the food has not been as good (new cook?) as it used to be and some of the wait staff did not do a good job that night. Very disappointed and sorry to say we were going there at least once a week and sometimes more but we won't be back again for a...

My sister and I have always loved going to Champions for a late night drink pr to grab dinner however not anymore! Last night my husband and I decided to grab dinner there. Let's start with the fact that about 10 mins after we sat a visibly intoxicated person sat down at the bar and was continually served alcohol without a second glance. He was loud, obnoxious, and couldn't even stay on his stool properly. We ordered food and quickly realized that the cook was sitting at the bar, it appeared he was already drinking alcohol. He goes to make our food. It came out, our wraps were ok other than the fact that they didn't even have all the ingredients on them! The waitress was nice at least however didn't ID us for alcohol. Which if I didn't look like I'm not a day over 17(actually 24) that wouldn't be a big deal, I ALWAYS get ID'd and told such. I really don't like leaving bad reviews but the drunken sailor put us over the edge! We will drive the extra few miles to Harry's Inn in the Heights if we want a drink and good food...

Woman behind the bar was amazing. The waitress however was not. Me and my mother walked in, never being there before ordered drinks at the bar woman said sit down and the waitress will order our food. We sat down and waited 10 minutes for a waitress. She then proceeded to take orders of others who had just sat down. Walking by our table 7 times trying to flag her down she completely ignored the fact that we were there. At this point we were packing up to leave it was apparent we were not getting appropriate service and would not be eating anytime soon. 30 minutes sitting its appropriate to think a waitress was supposed to take our order, unfortunately it did not happen. To the woman behind the bar you are fantastic thank you for acknowledging our presence and having great customer service.
