Title: Exquisite Indian Cuisine at India Star in Delaware, NY! Rating: ★★★★☆ During my recent visit to Delaware, NY, I had the pleasure of dining at India Star, a charming restaurant that offers a delightful taste of authentic Indian cuisine. Nestled in a picturesque location, this hidden gem captured my heart with its warm hospitality, aromatic spices, and diverse menu. As soon as I stepped into India Star, I was greeted with a friendly smile and seated promptly. The restaurant's cozy and inviting atmosphere immediately set the stage for a memorable dining experience. The staff was attentive, courteous, and willing to guide me through the menu, ensuring my preferences and dietary restrictions were met. Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the food. India Star boasts a menu that is both extensive and diverse, offering a range of traditional Indian dishes that cater to various tastes and spice preferences. From vegetarian delights to succulent meat dishes, there was something for everyone. I started my culinary journey with a plate of samosas, which were perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with a savory and well-seasoned potato mixture. The accompanying mint chutney added a refreshing touch. For my main course, I opted for the classic butter chicken, a rich and creamy dish that was bursting with flavor. The chicken was tender and succulent, and the aromatic blend of spices left me craving for more. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring I left the restaurant feeling satisfied. One aspect that stood out during my visit was the use of fresh ingredients and authentic spices. The flavors were vibrant and well-balanced, showcasing the chef's expertise in traditional Indian cooking. The presentation of the dishes was also visually appealing, adding to the overall dining experience. The prices at India Star were reasonable, considering the quality of the food and the portion sizes. The restaurant also offers a lunch buffet, allowing guests to sample a variety of dishes at an affordable price. While the ambiance at India Star was pleasant, the restaurant's interior could benefit from some updating to enhance the overall dining experience. However, the attentive service and delectable cuisine more than made up for any minor shortcomings in the ambiance. In conclusion, India Star in Delaware, NY, is a hidden culinary gem that offers an authentic taste of India. With its warm hospitality, flavorful dishes, and reasonable prices, it provides a satisfying dining experience for both Indian food enthusiasts and newcomers to the cuisine. If you find yourself in the area and craving Indian flavors, a visit to India Star will undoubtedly transport your taste buds on a delightful journey through the rich and vibrant world of Indian cuisine.

This is a small Indian restaurant with a very home-like atmosphere. We went for dinner service on a Friday night. The waitstaff were friendly and the service was relatively fast. The restaurant is small and would likely not accommodate a wheelchair very well. They had no handicapped accessible restrooms. The parking is also street parking. The food is your typical Indian cuisine, served on a variety of flatware. I got the lamb biryani and it seems there is a choice of spice preference for all the entrées. The food was good and we were served a small bowl of dal before the meal. The prices do seem a little high for the portion sizes offered. We also ordered the naan (two halves for $1.99), and it was amazing-extremely fresh tasting. I would definitely recommend ordering some of that amazing Naan if you come here. They offer dine in or take out and a lunch buffet every day as well as a dinner buffet on Tuesdays. The price for the buffet was very reasonable and likely worth a try (I think it was $8.99 at lunch and $11.99 at dinner). Overall, if you're looking for a simple medium-priced Indian meal (or if you love naan) this may be a great choice for you.

Visited this place on a late Sunday afternoon for lunch. The lady at the reception was rude the entire time. We ordered Madrasi lamb with naans. The curry tasted too sour. The chicken biryani was nothing close to what a biryani should be :( They just mixed plain white rice with some tiny chicken pieces and added red food color. The biryani also had huge chunks of half-cooked onion and capsicum. I just feel bad that foreigners don't get to taste real good Indian food. After the horrible lunch, we did not even feel like getting some dessert. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

I drove by earlier in the day and thought maybe, yeah I can stop for dinner. Never been before but let me tell you. I'm hooked. It's take out only right now, not a problem. I spoke with the lady at the counter who was absolutely lovely and incredibly pleasant. I learned all about her and her family and their love of Buffalo. I ordered saag paneer medium spicy, chana masala hot spicy, and asked which samosas to order the beef or potato. She recommended the potato. I also ordered Nan and a side of mint chutney. These folks are not afraid to add the heat. For me, it was perfect but if you can't take it spicy you better stick to mild across the meal. The samosa are nothing short of delicious. They're super creamy potato and pea with a nice herb and spice mix stuffed into pastry cooked to perfection and the dipping sauce was amazing. Loved them. The saag has such amazing spinach flavor which is exactly how it should be. This is one of my all time favorite Indian dishes and India Star did not disappoint. The chana masala has a ton of flavors and is a great dish. The mint chutney is bright and refreshing. To be honest my nan was a little under cooked but I tossed it into the toaster oven for a minute or two which made it a game changer. That game was full on now. They also gave me a rice pudding and it was also fantastic. So I love this place and will definitely be back. Do yourself a favor and pick up dinner this week. Did I mention it was all really, really good. Two thumbs up. I'm adding this one to my new...
