Unquestionably the best pizza in the Binghamton area. I usually go for the Pizza Bianco without the meat, and it's just a white pizza, but something about the perfectly cooked crust and the whipped, herby ricotta is very special. The red pizzas I've tried have also been really good, my heart just belongs to the Bianco. In my experience the quality has been very consistent over the years. Besides pizza, they also make excellent sandwiches, which I'll get if I'm going for lunch and don't feel like dealing with a whole pizza. Their potato salad side has a unique taste from a lot of others I've tried - I think it's just more mustard and maybe a bit of sugar in the dressing but it really makes a difference. Even without considering the quality, the food is very reasonably priced for the amount you get. If I'm really hungry and only getting pizza, I can eat 4/6 slices of a medium, but a medium could definitely feed 2 if you pair it with a salad or something, or if you're not as hungry. The portions are generous for other entrees. The Italian ice is good. They usually have a good assortment of flavours, some fixed and some seem to rotate. I really like the Cannoli flavour- it has the classic rich cannoli taste but with the lightness of Italian ice. The ice window is only open during the summer, but I just discovered they serve other Italian desserts in the restaurant! I had their tiramisu - I liked how distinct the layers were and the thick layer of cream on top. Even through the lady fingers and cream, it tasted like they used a high quality espresso to soak it. I will not be skipping dessert here again. I haven't seen the new upstairs that just opened, but I love the feeling of the downstairs room. It's cozy, you can see into the kitchen, and it really feels like you're at home being served by family. And it helps that the people...

I just texted this to a friend:

"AVE MARIA!!!

My daughter & I went to Joey's for the first time in a while on Pentecost Sunday. We got my 2 favorite foods: pizza & ice cream (theirs is custard).

We got a large pie: half fried eggplant & ricotta / half sausage & roasted red peppers.

Review:

EXCELLENT!!!

The sauce was BEAUTIFUL!!!

The toppings were high-quality & DELICIOUS!!!

The ricotta was SWEET & I LOVED it!!!

So is Joey's going into Tier 1? My only drawback is the crust. The dough is DELICIOUS, but it's a little too thick & wasn't crispy on the bottom.

BUT, he's DEF above Tier 2. So based on THAT pie, I've created a new Tier just for him: Tier 1.25.

From past experience, my only hesitation w/ them is the inconsistency. I've gotten pies like that & have been blown away & other times not as great.

Gotta get back there soon & see if they can keep it at Tier 1.25 or even hopefully move up to Tier 1!!!

Also got a large custard twist & that was DELICIOUS!!! It was the MOST ice-cream/custard I've EVER had on a cone!!!

I LOVE Pentecost & this year the good Lord took me to Italian Paradise!!!"

My pizza-rating credentials: full-blooded Italian & grew up in the Northeast Bronx in the 60's & 70's eating pizza...

Kind of torn. I went here with a friend recently and just got a pizza and two sodas and we sat inside around lunch time, but the amount charged to my card did not match the receipt I was given at the time, and unfortunately I threw it out. I left a $5 cash tip and it appears I was also charged a $5 tip to the card, which I did not write in on the receipt. Either that or the cashier didn't total it correctly, gave me the receipt, then changed it. Either way is an unexpected charge and something was done wrong. For reference the receipt said $18 something and I was charged $22. This also makes my pizza and soda visit $27 total because of the cash tip as well. So even if that is somehow correct, it's too expensive to eat in.

I've been here several times and this was the only issue, but it's going to make me think about being charged correctly if I go back. The card it was paid with money was sent through cash app to pay for it so we didn't have to ask the cashier to do a split payment, which means it almost over drafted that account. I luckily caught it in time.

This seems like it's possible it was a mistake but I'll never know. The pizza was great, but I'll probably just go to consols next time or...

It's amazing how I've passed this place 10,000 times and have never tried it until now. I've lived 5 blocks away on the same street as Joey's for almost 4 years now and I've never actually had a sit down meal here. But I will certainly be coming back more often. One time a while back I had their pizza and also a sandwich here and they were very good. But I kinda overlooked the fact that they actually had full dinners here. Well the other day I saw a picture of a meal on Instagram that looked so delicious that I had to ask the person where they were. When they responded with Joey's I was shocked. So fast forward a few days and my lady and I head here for dinner. And boy they did not disappoint. I had fettuccine alfredo with grilled chicken and my fiance had penne vodka with shrimp. Everything was awesome. If you're looking for a reasonably priced, really good Italian meal I'd highly recommend Joey's!

While I can't comment on the full menu or indoor atmosphere, the gelati here is a standout. With a diverse selection of Italian ice flavors layered with indulgent frozen custard, it's a true summer delight. The custard comes in vanilla, chocolate, or a playful twist option, each enhancing the flavor experience. Outdoor seating lets you savor your treat before it melts, a quintessential summer experience. Do note, this spot accepts only cash at the window. For a refreshing and tasty dessert, this place is a top choice.
