Kinda disappointed in this place lately. I am a regular. Sometimes I order like 2-3 times a week or once a week either through uber or at the restaurant itself. But lately it has been super duper inconsistent. There are good days and bad very days. Sometimes my boba is GOOD sometimes my boba is OK. Sometimes they add random stuff to my bowl that I didn’t ask for or drown it in sauce when I ask for sauce on the side. When the adults do it, it’s usually a good meal, but when the student workers do it they mess up at least 3 parts of my order and they take forever to fix it. This is coming from a student too :(
There’s no excuse for the inconsistency, to be honest. The instructions on the sheet are always clear and I reiterate them to the cashier to make sure. The sheet concept is one that I really liked when I started eating at TaiChi.
I come in days where it’s busy and days when it’s not. I even tip you guys but sometimes it feels like the tip is not worth it :|
Lately, the boba they make is bland and not sweet like usual. Their fish is fresh and I would say it’s the best to go sushi adjacent/poke bowl place in the area. I wish they had more fish options.
Owner, thank you for bringing such an innovative restaurant to the area. As a business student, I was fascinated by how efficiently you ran the restaurant the first few weeks but lately it seems like your work force hasn’t been as productive. I would invest more time into training employees in the front area so that these mistakes...
Read moreI tried the sweet potato zang zang special bubble tea. I thought it was really good. You have to mix the paste smeared on the outside of the cup into the milk but once it was mixed in, it was a nice flavour and not too sweet. The pearls were cooked well. There are lots of drinks on the menu and most of them can be made with non-dairy milk and with the sweetness and ice levels adjusted. I had no choice but to visit them during BU move-in weekend which was the only weekend I was in Vestal and it was, as I expected, very busy. I don’t usually like to order online but I did this time to save some time and that was definitely a smart move because the line was very long. I was frustrated though because I saw what I was pretty sure was my drink get prepared and set on the counter and then sit there for like 5 minutes because there was no one attending to the online order drinks. When someone made a drink for a customer that had ordered in person they would hand off the drink and then immediately run back to making the next order, so I couldn’t ask anyone because they were always busy. I mean, it’s fair that they were working hard to keep up with orders but I just wanted someone to take 5 seconds to hand...
Read moreI hate to be the one to be brutally honest. First the good...The food is fresh and tasty. The environment is crisp, relaxing and inviting. Now the downside....A little confusing on how to order on the slip provided. Maybe a little more so for us of the older generation. The food looks like a lot when you look at the description. Although, with the average price of $13.00 for a Chicken Poke Bowl, you would expect a decent sized meal. Add to that another $6.99 for an iced tea. The finished meal after the very slow service was about 1/4 cup of rice, maybe 2 oz of cubed chicken, a couple of thin avacado slices and some very scant amounts of some other vegetables. This was wrapped in a sheet of seaweed that you can purchase 50 full sized sheets on Amazom for $12.00. The way overpriced iced tea was incredibly sweet. The shock comes when you look at your small cardboard serving container and see how small of an amount of food you got for $44.00 for two people. I went for a meal, and left looking for one. My advice is to find a good chineese buffet. Your money will be much...
