Texas Roadhouse — Restaurant in Town of Vestal

Amazing food and people! We were always checked on to make sure we had everything we needed and ended up taking some food home just bc it was all so filling! Every worker that we met seemed happy and helpful. I also like my burgers on the crunchy side and they made sure my burger was well done like I had asked! This was actually my first time here and my boyfriend said he just had to take my here because of all the good food and service he has had in the past! Will def be coming back sometime with friends!

update 9/25/22

I’m a bit disappointed by our visit tonight. My partner and I wanted to take our two older kids out to eat, but probably should of gone somewhere else this time. It’s a great place to go but if we knew it was going to be a 50 minute wait we would of let someone else take our place in line.

My partner walked in to get us on the wait list but the woman out is down for a call in by accident and she said 10-20 minute wait but then texted 20-30. With kids we would of left if we next it was longer than 20. After fixing the mistake we still waited bc she said be one of the next up.

The staff was very nice though the manager didn’t seem very happy but she probably had a lot to deal with and she was polite. Our waitress was very pleasant though and they gave us some money back after talking with the manager bc we had a problem with our steak. One steak was a little more done than my partner would have liked but it’s how I eat mine so we just switched and figured they mixed it up. Easy fix even though my partner wasn’t a mushroom fan, I just took them off. BUT then something weird happened. I have had tender steak before but this was gross. It was like wet dissolving paper with a pasty taste. It was like the jars of beef baby food, it was like when you chew a more natural gum and it starts dissolving when you have chewed it too long after it lost its flavor. I don’t know why but about half or more of my steak(actually my partners) was this way so I didn’t end up eating it though I tired. They were going to make me another but I because we spent so much time waiting we really needed to get our kids home as they had school in the morning.

It was really just a series of unfortunate events but everything else was amazing. I have definitely got better steak elsewhere and we make a lot of slow cooked steak for holidays and birthdays but it was probably just an odd mistake?

Shrimp was great, sweet potato was cooked nice and soft, blooming onion was perfect, and bread was great like always. That’s only a little of what we had.

To recap- still a great place but I won’t get steak here again and I’ll be very vigilant on checking our wait time. Always expect 10-20 more minutes...

Busy Friday pm, got on the Rsvp wait list for 10 to 15 min wait, (not bad) they will call our cell phone. We chatted with a patron also waiting, but she had been 30 minutes longer than what they told her and she noticed all the new people going ahead of her now. . She went inside to Rsvp desk and we never saw her again.

After we waited 30 min and noticed the same thing, big and small parties being seated ahead of us. So my husband went up to the desk, to ask what was up & do we need to find a different restaurant? They apologized and said sometimes their ph rsvp doesn't work with a lame excuse they tried to call 2x's. There were no messages or recent calls to our phone. They seated us finally, after the now 45 minute wait and we could easily have gone to cracker barrel or ate at our hotel and should have.

The music volume was way too loud for the 3 of us to have a conversation, which was part of the planned outing that evening. We had to raise our voices and lean in to hear each other. Not like this at any of our local CNY or Ithaca locations we've dined at.

When the crew did a couple of Birthday greetings to various Patrons, we could not even make out a word they were saying in the chant as the background music was too loud. We commented about it , being a Bday tradition to some folks, as we told our guest who we brought to dinner with us, since he had never been to Tx R.H.

Wait staff was courteous and moving quickly, we explained the really long wait...and issue getting seated and got No response. Thinking Like they could have given a extra basket of rolls, or an appetizer or a drink for God's sake or called the Mgr to speak to us. We still gave him/her a good tip. Food was good and as ordered.

No, Would not recommend Binghamton TX R.H if they put you on a phone call wait list. Some obviously got their calls but at least 2 of us did not and they admitted it being a problem. I will leave.. IF, there is a next time to another establishment, standing 38 min in the rain driven windy vestibule everytime the door opened was not pleasant with 25 other people. Then wait another 6 to 7 min to be pushed to the front for seating was...

I want to start out by saying I've been to this Texas Roadhouse multiple times and have had a good experience each time. The food is delicious and the service is usually great. Recently, I was here with my boyfriend and he ordered a margarita. The server we had ID'ed him (which we expected). Our server was very nice and we had no problems with him. We were drinking responsibly and had drunk over half the margarita by the time our entrees arrived. While in the middle of eating, a random worker (I guess a manager but don't know for sure since she didn't introduce herself) came up to us, said "I'm gonna have to take the margarita from you guys" in a rude manner, and then left and took it with her. We were just utterly shocked. I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, especially since I know that the university is nearby and they probably get a lot of underage students trying to buy drinks, plus my boyfriend looks very young for his age (just turned 21 this summer, but looks like he's a teenager still), but just because you have a suspicion that someone's underage, doesn't mean you can just take the drink without any kind of explanation. I would've been fine if she came over and asked to see the ID again and scanned it or asked for more verification or something, but it was just the fact that she didn't introduce herself or explain anything or even give us time to answer her before taking the unfinished drink and walking away. I just wished she had been nicer and treated us like actual human beings. My boyfriend and I are very unconfrontational so we definitely didn't make a scene or anything, but they still expected us to pay for the whole drink even though we didn't get to finish it. Still paid and tipped normally since it wasn't the server's fault. Disappointing experience, I want to continue coming here but I...
