I wonder if this Courtyard was a different hotel previously. It is an older hotel with simple surface updates to the decor. Cleanliness is the number one thing I look for in any hotel, and I was happy it was. The room was a double queen standard, and it was a good size with enough room for a two-seater couch and ottoman. There was a teeny tiny little table for it, but it was so small it was more like a ledge.
There were a few details that I couldn't tell if they were just missed or simply not offered, like the tiny tube of toothpaste, disposable shower cap, bar of soap, etc. that is usually in hotel bathrooms. None of that was available, yet the standard tiny coffee/tea machine was there. There were complimentary shampoo/conditioner/shower gel dispensers in my bath, but mine were all empty, which was a little disappointing. The hot water came on quickly and the shower pressure was good, although I did wish the shower head was one of those detachable kinds that turn into a hand held. There was a plastic shower curtain instead of the usual glass enclosure for the bath, and while it was clean, it was quite old and hard-water stained. My room was a standardb double, and there was a tub/shower combo, so keep this in mind if you have mobility issues. They do have other ADA approved rooms, however, so be sure to ask about/book that if needed.
There is a so-called "fitness center," but it was a tiny, windowless room. There was only one elliptical and two treadmills, and the treadmills were broken. I run regularly, so it was a big disappointment for those to be unavailable since the weather was awful. There is an indoor pool, but there was no lifeguard on duty @ 7 AM, and I don't know if one is ever on duty. Plan to exercise in your room or elsewhere.
Overall, the most important things for a decent hotel stay were ticked--a clean, comfortable room with clean sheets and towels, a functioning, clean bathroom with ample hot water and good water pressure. So I...
Read moreI would've given this hotel a higher mark, had the room been cleaner. The front desk staff was really nice, TJ and Sue. The room although it looked nice, it wasn't thoroughly cleaned. the pull out bed had left over opened/used sanitizer wrapper that flew off the bed upon opening it, it also had a large blue plastic as well as crumbs on the unmade bed, which btw didn't have a blanket or extra pillow to accommodate my daughter. It also had lots of noticeable crumbs under the bed as well. My daughter just closed the bed back up and put a sheet on the couch and slept upright that way, with a pillow I gave her. The shower curtain also had two stains/spots that if you scratched them off with your nail, they would have come off, this led me to believe it wasn't cleaned. It was hard showering and making sure you don't touch the curtain..The overall hotel wasn't bad but I was definitely disappointed when I came across those issues and I should've complained prior to check out but my hubby hates me to make complaints and it was also late at night after we returned from our event, so I chose to wait until I was leaving to at least alert them to the lack of cleanliness of the room. The location is spot on, lots of food choices a stone throw away. I really hope that the folk who clean the rooms are this and do a better job, I would stay again as I've been a loyal Marriott Reward member for years but the next time, I will make the complaint as soon as I find...
Read moreThis hotel is a nice. It has pleasant rooms, with comfortable beds, a full bathroom, and good internet service. It is rather lacking in other amenities. The pool is too small to be useful and the fitness center is rather limited.
The hotel staff did provide good service. Recognition of my status was rather lame, consisting of black keys for my room. A couple of bottles of water would have been nice. It certainly doesn't compare with the last Marriott property I stayed at, where I found a chilled bottle of wine in my room on check-in.
The Bistro is the main amenity. The food and drink in the Bistro are good. Some additional healthier options would be nice, but that's probably controlled at the corporate level. The other issue is the prices in the Bistro. The prices are comparable to being locked in the secured area of a major international airport and are rather excessive and not aligned with adjacent competition. This problem appears common to all Courtyard's in general and I don't blame the hotel management for it, but rather the corporate level...
