Kathy's cakes are on FB defending themselves claiming they "offered to reschedule" when literally NO reason was given to cancel in the first place. When talking to Kathy I was like how many customers do you typically get a day like today "10" well at least 50 we're gonna show up for us so thanks for nothing. There was no proof agreed upon percentage (they could've given me 1% and I wouldn't have cared) I didn't set it up on details but I did call to verify date and called a second time to ask about the donor drive said they could park a truck outside if not allowed to do it in the building. Was told they could use a table no problem as long as they needed. They didn't even call myself or my niece who set it up to cancel. They told the nurse who was going to run the donor drive part "they had no clue about it" then called my niece and canceled (all this was after they had already opened) the manager (or person who answered the phone when I called 2 hours later when I found out (I was a little busy dealing with my sick baby here) and she verified our name was on the calendar for the day. No party no mass gathering just an expectation they would do business as usual and we would get a plethora of people to show up and increase their sales and a percentage would come to us and while people visit we could solicit for the bone marrow pool. Literally asked NOTHING from them but to keep their doors open and sell as usual. When I freaked after kathy finally called me at 3:00 she said "we wouldn't have made enough money to make it worth it" and said we're were scheduled for an "ice cream social" whatever that means and said they normally do 2 types of fundraising the ice cream social and baked good sale orders both going for 20-35% of the procedes toward the fundraiser. Again I reiterated multiple times I didn't care about the percentage, we were never told a restriction of time and there was literally no other expectations from them than to proceed with business as usual. I was more for the donor drive than worried about money since I understand it's right before Christmas and most people won't be able to spend anything. She also repeatedly said they "do better in the summer we could reschedule for April" well thank God we did well with the last fundraiser and Damon had already found a match cuz I would've hated to loose my house or watch my sun struggle and possibly die while we waited for a more profitable convenient time for them, but heck with the 3700 people who die every year waiting for matches who may have possibly found one through our drive they rudely have misscheduled their illnesses as well. I'm FUMING! I LITERALLY CAN NOT THINK OF ONE GOOD REASON THEY CANCELED YESTERDAY. They also claimed on FB they had no idea about the donor drive and were never notified by fb. EVERYONE HAS SEEN THE POSTS WITH THE EVENT SCHEDULED AT THEIR BUSINESS. These are screen shots with date and times of me sending them thank you for hosting us which they ignored... They speak...
Read moreThe staff are friendly & give wonderful customer service. The size portions of the ice cream is the best the largest you're going to get anywhere. Nice large portions & they don't skimp on the toppings either. They also serve cakes and pies and other baked goods that absolutely mouth-watering. Would rather go there to get my baked goods than anywhere else so the best hands down. They may be slightly more expensive than you'd find at Walmart or Price Chopper but they are fresh made to order. Taste just like something grandma would cook. They how to make dog treats. My dog absolutely loves them goes wild every time we walk in the door with ice cream in our hands. She's put two & two together. She's realized that if we have ice cream then we probably brought her home one of her most loved treats. They also have homemade mask with all kinds of cool designs. Since the new owners took over The Big Dipper is even better than before. Unfortunately the only accepts picture upload not video uploads or I would share a video of my dog & the way she reacts when we come home with ice cream. She Loves the treats they...
Read moreHighly recommended!! After happily agreeing to whip up a custom birthday cake on short notice (2 days), I asked if I could add on a custom cookie cake. Kathy & her staff were able to make that happen as well!
The cake was their PB Explosion, but with a sunflower theme for the birthday girl. Not only was the cake gorgeous, it was delicious, too! The cookie cake looked great, and got the nod of approval from the birthday boy. I didn't try that one myself.. I was too busy downing the pb explosion!
Thank you so much, Kathy & crew! We were all amazed by the cakes, and can't wait to come back to try your ice cream and...
