We came here for date night for the first time after my co worker talked nothing but good. We needed reservations ahead of time so we got a 6:30pm reservation. We stood for over an hour waiting because there weren't any chairs to sit in while we waited and everyone else who booked a 6:30 reservation had to all be there because little did we know that we were all going to be at the same table. Even after all the 6:30 reservations showed up, we still sat around waiting because a party before us was taking longer than they thought. After the party left and table was cleared, we were still waiting forever. Other customers who've been here before even complained about the wait (I guess it normally doesn't take a life time to be seated). The host seemed to have disappeared at this point and after 20 minutes, reappeared magically. One of the repeat customers asked the host what the deal was since we've been waiting for over an hour and there's an empty table, that was when the host finally took us all back. We sat for 10 minutes and the server finally took everyone's drink orders. After waiting another 10 minutes for our drinks, we got up and left. We went across the street to Azul where we were seated immediately and had our drinks, food ordered, ate and checked out in 45min. Blew my mind at the horrible service we had at Tokyo, being in customer service all my working days. I've had much better...
Read moreThis was definitely an experience for the books... and not in a good way. The food - amazing, the chef and the serving staff - AMAZING, the manager - unprofessional and very demeaning to one's character. My friends and I got into the restaurant at 7:30pm for a reservation, was told it would be a bit before we would be served (finally got started with our food at 8:40pm keep in mind they close at 9pm). We ordered some beers, bantered back and forth for a while, and then out of nowhere the manager came up to us at our table (keep in mind around other people) and accused us of doing drugs in the bathroom of the restaurant. We were all bewildered. At this point - it was about 8:10pm and we had already ordered $60/food PER PERSON as we were enjoying ourselves, and we were completely turned off from the atmosphere and the managers accusation. The manager then stated that "there have been issues in the past with people hiding drugs in the restaurant." That sure made us feel comfortable! At the end of the day - our group and the chef and the waiting staff shared so many laughs and had a lot of great conversations, but the manager never showed face again after the accusation and then slapped a 5% discount on our bill. The staff were very apologetic, but the manager - nowhere to be seen. Complete disgrace of professionalism and I will not...
Read moreThe food was quite good. Some of it felt a little expensive for what was given. But again it was very good so I'll give a pass on the price. However! Do not order through EatStreet. I was supposed to receive my order at 6:27 and it was marked as ready at 6:14 however I didn't receive my meal until 8pm. The staff were very friendly but gave two different times the meal would be ready and neither were met. They offered an apology of $10 in gift certificate and a single slice of cheesecake (despite having 4 meals in the order). All in all the food would be 5 stars but the service would be only 2 so I balance her out at 3 stars.
UPDATE: I have since been contacted both by eat street (via email) and Tokyo (via phone call) apologizing for the mix up and offering me a full refund. I am so impressed by their customer service and desire to make things right. I will absolutely be...
