primarily, a server came up to us with a sly expression on his face. he asked us about what drinks we would like. “could i have the strawberry lemonade?” i calmly asked. “oh. we don’t have lemonade.” he said with a confused expression, acting like he didn’t even know what a lemonade was. “what in the ever living christ do you mean you don’t have any lemonade. lemonade is about half of your menu!” i angrily yelled. “i’ll just have water” i said after that. after this, my whole table looked at each other confused. was this man an escaped psychiatric ward patient? we were confused. a few moments later, the same server came back. we knew we were in for some trouble. “are you guys ready to order?” he asked at about -1000 decibles. i almost had to ask him to repeat himself. we quickly told him our orders. however, this is when we started to get confused. my authoritive tone was met with his anxious and anticlimactic response. he must have asked us to repeat ourselves 20 times. i felt like i was in an interview with a schizophrenic. after this interaction, our table broke out into laughter. what the hell was going on. he seemed like he was trying to seduce us. he kept smiling at us, revealing his braces. the eye contact he made was unbearable. his harsh gaze made me feel like i was stripped…… of my rights. to be honest, i felt like a victim. only a few minutes later, my friend asked him to come back because she wanted something else off the menu. this was almost too much for him to handle. he had a hard time with the order. anyway, the food is coming soon. i’ll leave an updated review soon, if i make it out alive. pray for me.
okay. i figured out i can’t leave another review, so ill just add to this one. and unsurprisingly to everyone, more strange things happened. right after our food came, the same uncanny waiter came up to my friend and calmly told her, “oh, that’s why. they forgot to put the powdered sugar and whipped cream on your pancakes.” and then he walked away. that’s why what???? and why did he simply let us know the order was wrong, and do nothing about it? the hash browns we recieved were shaped as if he bit them into squares with his teeth. the sausage looked like it still belonged on the farm. and i won’t start talking more about how he was eyeing us down. i can see it… 3 girls step into iHop, never step out. we’re eating the food now. hopefully we do not get poisoned. cross your fingers for us, readers. i can’t even begin to fathom what our waiter will do when we say we have to split the bill in three. updated review soon.
we just finished the meal. my friend just raised her hand to ask for the bill, and we specified that we needed it split into three. after lingering uncomfortably at our table for way too long, our server said “okay” in the slowest and softest way one can imagine. i would rate our meals a 3/10 at best. maybe it would have been higher if he hadn’t forgotten the powdered sugar and whipped cream and done next to nothing about it. not to mention, the piece of bacon and piece of sausage that was missing from my other friends meal. the service, don’t get me started. i would rate it a -1/10. i felt scared, violated, and visually harassed. nothing could explain the occurrences we expierience tonight. the atmosphere of the restaurant was similar to that of a liminal space. the lights flickered and emphasized the bright red of the walls. i don’t think i’ll be returning. honestly, i can’t say for sure if i’ll even be leaving. it’s a dangerous world. stay safe out there guys, and stay tuned for my next review. 100% honest, no detail left...
Read moreAfter receiving our meals my turkey dinner was cold, we had no silverware on the table until asking for it after the waiter rushed away. Upon receiving our food the waiter, Gabe U according to the receipt (I filled out the useless survey on there too), literally never returned to our table while we were dining. He never returned to ask how our meal was, if we needed anything, (my son actually wanted BBQ sauce for his cold dried out chicken tenders that we wound up leaving with in a box), never asked if we wanted a refill on drinks, NOTHING!! When he did return, after we asked the female waitress if she could get him, we asked for the check and a box for my son's leftovers. Needless to say Gabe came back with a box and a bag and then walked away, gone. I again asked the female waitress, after almost 10 minutes of waiting, if she could get our waiter. At this point my wife went up to the cashier, who happened to be the manager, to find out where he was and was told ever so nonchalantly that he was in the back getting other plates, the same excuse that the female waitress told me, only she further said that he'd be out in a couple of minutes. My wife, while up there paid in cash at which point my kids and I left the booth. My wife retuned to the table with a tip, a hell of a lot more than I would have left him and that he deserved, and she further observed Gabe EMPTY-HANDED exiting the kitchen just in time to collect his tip. If I'd have known that she left him a traditional 15% gratuity before I pulled out of the parking lot I would have returned and adjusted it to meet his lack of proper response to his customers. This guy didn't even clean the tables off of the customers who left before us, two other booths, but made sure to pick up the tips. At no point was there more than five booths being tended to by both wait staff, Gabe and the female that I referred to, at any one time and this guy disappears until it's time to collect a tip. In my opinion Gabe is in the complete wrong line of work and the manager needs to be retrained on customer service. We've been here many times during breakfast hours and never had any sort of an issue but this was our first and last time here for dinner. I should have went to the Mohegan Diner like I thought about....
Read moreWon't be coming back here! Terrible staff. My sister and I tip everywhere we go but when it comes to Ihop we have the worse service. There are times where we have to wait a while just for someone to take our order, and or the waiter/waitress never comes back to check on us. We stopped tipping this one rude lady who claimed we never tipped her the first time (which isn't true) so the second time we had her we noticed she added her own tip, there on we stopped tipping not only cause she's rude but because we decide her tip based on service. We went there 2 days ago and we walked and got the easiest look from her, thankfully she wasn't our waiter but turns out she told our waiter to add her own tip. We complained to the manger stating that its not fair that they add their own tip what if the service wasn't good, him and that rude lady stood there and argued with my sister stating that we never tip when we come there, we told him that the service isn't always good when we come there. If we don't tip its for a reason. It was very unprofessional of both of them to argue with 2 paying customers, this isn't the first time we've had problems with these people. BEWARE,SAVE YOUR MONEY SAVE YOUR TIME, FOOD ISN'T WORTH IT FOR RUDE SERVICE. Food isn't even that good. I had to send my food back last week after asking for no onions because I'm allergic. If it wasn't for me checking it I could have ended up in the hospital and we still tipped after that. They don't care about your concerns, and they sure don't take allergies seriously. Worse experience I've been coming here since I was a kid its sad to see what it has become. Imagine the whole place being empty an still receiving bad service it shouldn't take that Long for someone to take our order if were the only ones...
