Bacari is seemingly a good restaurant with top class service and food. Unfortunately, my family and I had a very negative experience recently. We went to Bacari for my mother’s birthday dinner. Everything was fine until shortly after we left - serious food poisoning struck both my mother and I. We had the same food - and shared the results. My mother and I were sick for the next few days with terrible cramps and sickness. The morning following the dinner we immediately contacted the restaurant, as they should be informed. Surprisingly, the responses were sarcastic and uncaring. The restaurant proceeded to blame us stating they “believed it was a stomach virus.” It was not, it was Staphylococcus aureus. My father works in the food industry and stated it was a clear case. This happens, unfortunately, but the responses from John at the restaurant were just unacceptable and to the point of pandering such as this: “If you knew me, and I felt as though we were negligent in some type of way, not only would I reimburse your charges, but I would personally deliver to your home a basket of gifts filled with sincerity.” Why would he state that about gifts? Read moreAbsolutely horrible experience tonight. My wife and I went for our wedding anniversary and we would have been better off staying at home. The restaurant was not busy at all however service was slow. Had to ask other servers for things because ours was never around. My wife order Rack of lamb medium and I ordered filet mignon Med Rare. When the food came out the rack of lamb was well done and filet mid well. We had to ask another server to send it back because ours was not around. When the recooks came out they were still overcooked. Since it’s a Sunday night and we had a babysitter we could not afford to send the food back for a second time and wait again. We tried to eat the recooks but both were not to our liking. When our sever actually came back and asked us how everything was we told him and his response was we should have sent it back a second time. I am sorry but if you cannot get cook temps right the first or second time what difference would a third cook be? Now I would have expected that they would take the 2 entrees off since they were not done right 2times but no they decided that they would not do that. No apologies from the management either. Completely ruined our anniversary dinner and we will never go back even thought we live close enough...
Read moreThis was our first experience at Bacari. The place is well updated and the decor is quite nice. Unfortunately the account is of where we sat was very loud. We sat at a larger table and couldn’t hear each other. It was so loud that our ears were ringing when we left. They need to do something about the acoustics, not certain if anyone else experienced the same issue. The hostess was pleasant but seemed to be overwhelmed, she only had 4 tables but perhaps didn’t have enough support. We waited too long to place our order, needed to ask about specials since she didn’t let us know. The food came out very quickly making us suspicious about prep… sure enough the hommus had a dry top layer so we k ow they were pre prepped, the grilled octopus had a tofu texture, we ordered salmon and the swordfish special, both of which had dry top layer and again a tofu texture which should not be the case with these fishes. It was very disappointing and one of the worst experiences. Ambiance was too loud, service was ok but needed more staff, but the food was the biggest disappointment...
