It's a little cramped but it's fine for me because I'm just one.(It gets cramped during busy hours because it is that good) The food is exceptional the family that runs it is lovely.. I've been coming here completely addicted to their Pho with 48 hour simmered broth.. can't say how fast the service is it's so fast it's not even funny.. it's a family-run business.. I overheard a patron asking how long they've been in business and the woman at the counter explained it's her family's company and they came from Buffalo New York and they have several spots.. I've been to a lot of spots because I love my pho specifically thin sliced beef no frills..The only thing I ask for is extra limes.. condiments are always full and bottles clean.. they do give an exceptional amount of beef I will say as well. I've been to so many spots I've lived in Boston for like 25 years and I was obsessed with the Vietnamese food out there and this place really gives you already double meat.. usually I have to ask and once it was a problem in fort Lee at one spot.. The one on Lemoine Ave by Fort Lee High School that has nothing to do with this company.. they basically double charged me at this different place just because I wanted some more meat but not here!!!!🤤I will also say it was very lean meat. High quality there was no ribbons of fat or anything chewy. It was just perfect. It's also very clean it's very nice and they're 48 hour broth is where it's at! I wish I had better pictures I will make another post next time I go I always get into it too fast before taking a picture.. such a good place very nice people! I'm an Uber driver I should know I'm everywhere.. I've been an Uber driver for years and years in Boston Massachusetts and now I've been living in New Jersey working and I've been hitting up this spot before I start my shift like every other day this week that's how good it is. Very worth the $15 for soup and then tip accordingly.. lovely people.. I feel good giving them my money. This is mom food. Mom and Dad are in the back there making it and kids are young adults running the floor . It's exceptional. Do yourself a favor go check it out when you're really hungry. I can never finish a bowl and...
Read moreI walked in around 8:30pm, dirty plates left on every table. The male attendant worker had no personality, dead pan, did not even say hello or welcome us. We stood there for 5-10 minutes while we watched him clean off the tables.
He finally seated us without any apology. He brought us tea. When I looked inside my tea cup it had tea residue on the insides of the cup. I asked for another. For apps we ordered the fried spring rolls. Very good 10/10, the Pho thin sliced beef 10/10, except when he brought the Pho out, he was holding the bowl with his thumb and long dirty finger nail inside the broth. Maybe that's what gives the broth a little substance and flavor. The Bo Lok Lok 7/10. (Looked like Beef and Broccoli) not beef cubes, and hardly any cucumber, tomatoes and onions. More rice than meat. The final order was banh mi 5/10. The bread was stale, the pickled vegetables were not fresh and tasted sour. Overpriced @ $9.95. Had better for $7 in Edison and NYC. The pork was fatty. Service was non existent. Long wait time. the food is brought out one by one. The server robot did not engage or ask us if we liked the food or if we needed anything else. We even had to ask for water. Finally the bill was not accurate. $45.10 was the total. They charged $48.50.
Make sure you check their addition. This restaurant does not maintain a high level of cleanliness. Check the plates and inside the tea cup for dirt. I don't even wanna to know what happens behind the wall that separates the kitchen from the dining area. I will not return until they improve their service and cleanliness. Finally if this business was committed to customer service excellence, they would have responded to these reviews. You may have noticed they did not....
Read moreI was misled by some of the less than optimal peer reviews:( If it wasn't for the covid19, and limited choices, I probably wouldn't have read those reviews in detail. People, seriously, if you can't wait for good food, get your food from McDonald's. That's fast food for you.
Anyway, on to the food. This location has one expansive menu. That's not always a good thing. Typically that means a lot of frozen or refrigerated food. I do not know if that's true, but when I see a big menu, I try to stick to the mainstay of the restaurant. In this case, I'm a bit off, since I have been ordering bun bo hue, or spicy beef soup. Sometimes I would just get regular pho or pork chops, but mostly bun bo hue. I think I'm ok, they likely do what most vietnamese restaurant do, mix their specially prepare base to the regular pho soup. Yes, that's cheating a bit, but as long as its delicious, I'm all for it.
Vietnamese restaurants are all about the soup base. Majority of them are filled with MSG. These guys have the real stuff. The amount of MSG is minimum. I know because I'm allergic to it. The soup base is incredibly flavorful and fresh. The best of all, their interpretation of some of those dishes are exceptional. If you like a little bit of spicy food, I would recommend trying the spicy beef soup. It's nothing like the original, but this is one...
