Mango Mango Dessert — Restaurant in Tredyffrin Township

Finally you don’t have to go to Chinatown for Mango Mango. I was super excited and went there tonight, but the overall experience is not as good as I had expected, and here is why:

1. first of all, they are running a “buy one get one free” on 3 drink items. But this is a promo that wasn’t listed anywhere clearly inside the store. If you don’t know about it via their Chinese social media ads, they won’t inform you!

2. when you do know about the “buy one get one free” promo, they won’t let you have two different drinks of the same value, which doesn’t make any sense at all. Don’t you want your customers to try more flavors? Apparently not. Even with the same price, you can’t choose a different flavor. You’ll have two exactly the same drinks.

3. they have this weird practice of “forcing” you to sit down and wait for the server to order—you can’t just order at the counter, get your drink and sit down like what you do at Starbucks! So after you finish your drinks, if you go to counter to pay, they will send you back to your seat and tell you to wait. The purpose of this “ordeal” is to make sure you tip as if you’re dining in a restaurant.

4. Don’t order their $8.75 tiramisu! Because it’s not the tiramisu you were thinking of. Their version has no lady fingers, no real mascarpone cheese—the whole thing is essentially a piece of cream/chocolate-flavored JELLY. It has very similar texture of jelly.

To be fair, their signature drink and dessert taste fine. The interior design is beautiful. Yet what I mentioned in the above didn’t leave me the best first impression. I may go back later on when the grand opening...

Beware !!! we went to try the desert with my family , they had charged the tips in the invocie 20 % which is not normal for a desert place , which is complusory which was not disclosed to us and i had given the tip 2 times and when i asked about the charge s they told me they told me it is complusory and charged me the entire bill amount again wihout refunding the tips they had 20 % of the bill and i too had given from my end so i was charged tips twice when i asked about it and they just told me they will refund the one tip without actually doing it thwy charged the entire bill amount twice and also told me ceck the charges if it is not removed to call them to follow up .

The place was nice and modern looking, service was good and dessert was tasty but nothing to "wow over." I went there two times and probably won't be going back. First with my family and we had 10 people. We were slapped with a 20% gratuity on our check which was a surprise and unreasonable for a dessert place. The 2nd time I went with a couple of friends. Everyone that I had spoken to had expressed dissatisfaction with how the service is like a restaurant style. I believe this will be their downfall if it doesn't change. Who wants to go to a dessert place and have to tip like a restaurant. I'd rather go to Tous Les Jour where I can get quality dessert and nice ambience and not have to deal with a...
