I disagree with Eleni and Ina this dim sum place is excellent and a great addition to the area.... it is very authentic, nothing was too salty , and better than the average Flushing or Mott Street dim sum place and certainly better than anything in Philly Chinatown. for example they have Shanghai stir-fried rice cakes almost impossible to find in any regular dim sum place (one or two places in Cambridge Massachusetts and Pittsburgh and none in Philly), lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice I defy you to find sticky rice anywhere nine out of 10 Thai restaurants don't even have sticky rice in this area , and the seaweed egg soup was a revelation , the mushroom dim sum was fire .we had several different dim sums as well as a couple of Chinese American standards the dim sums were phenomenal the Chinese American was decent, the soup was one of the best I've ever had the flavor and texture was stellar. top to bottom the service was hospitable and the vibe was fun. you just can't beat it on swedesford road now I just hope the quality holds...
Read moreI concur with Anthony's review below. This place is very MEH. I live about half way between here and Dim Sum Court in Phoenixville. Dim Sum Court is miles better than this place. Ordered the Pork Soup Dumplings which look and taste suspiciously just like the ones I buy at Trader Joe's. They tasted okay, but barely had any soup in them. Dim Sum Court's are soooooo much better. Also ordered the chicken skewers. They were fine, if a touch too salty. Again, Dim Sum Courts are waaaaaay better in flavor, juiciness and texture. And we ordered the steamed Pork and Cabbage dumplings which were good but not great. They seem more likely to have been house made as opposed to the soup dumplings. I suppose if we didn't have the luxury of Dim Sum Court in Phoenixville this place would suffice. But DSC is just sooooo good there is really no reason...
Read moreBest dumplings with the largest variety in the area. We usually get the pork and cabbage as well as the Szechuan wontons. They also make a fantastic fried rice that always tastes fresh and doesn't come with that stale "wok hasn't been cleaned in days" flavor you sometimes get. My son loves the general Tso's chicken. Most important though, is their wonton soup. I can't stress enough that it's the best I've ever had, and different than any other I've tasted. The broth is light, fresh, and flavorful, with thin egg strips, scallions, and cilantro. I normally don't like cilantro in anything but guacamole, however, it just works. The wontons have thin dough and amazing filling. They have served it with and without added nori (seaweed). I highly suggest trying it at least once without the seaweed. Best Chinese food in the...
