Covello's Pizza — Restaurant in Trenton

This food is fantastic, excellent phone service and delivery driver.

For background, I had a slice of plain in there a few years back, and it was good but not great. I just moved back in the area and got delivery for the first time, and am extremely impressed.

Notes: The gentleman who answered the phone was very pleasant and polite, easy to communicate with. Everything I ordered is exactly as requested. Driver called upon arrival, and handed me items / took payment smoothly, didn't throw it at me or rush. Kept 6' when possible; I did not request no-contact delivery. I ordered a large chicken alfredo pizza which has broccoli and garlic as well. I will literally rave about this pie to anyone. Saucy and flavorful, generous amount of toppings and piping hot on arrival. We then ordered a buffalo chicken cheese steak and a regular cheese steak- both large with an ideal meat/cheese/bread ratio. Also delicious. Buffalo sauce was mild. The fries (ordered separately) were good, basic fries, fair portion to share. All items hot on arrival, and well packaged for delivery. I also ordered one plain slice to try, knowing a delivered slice wont be as good as one ordered at the counter. Their red pizza sauce is thicker and more seasoned than I usually like and liberally applied- still tasty. The thin crust is also thicker than I expect in these parts. Personally, I would request a little crispier and less sauce if I were having a pie made. Good amount of cheese for the sauce though, and I would try a large plain next time. They didn't forget the two liter either. :)

Delivery time was about fifty minutes from time of phone call. I don't recall whether a time was quoted but for 7:30 on a Sunday during football season that seemed reasonable. As I mentioned, everything was super hot on arrival.

Price was $45 for all items, not including tip. The specialty pizza was the largest chunk of that. I think it was cheap for the amount and quality of food, which was split between 4 adults with leftovers.

All in all, excellent experience and this is gonna be my delivery spot from now on. Thank you to the staff for an excellent meal, and expect to hear from...

Covello's makes the best pizza in town. My family and I have been enjoying their food since I was a little kid, my husband and his family too. Back then the dad ran the business mostly just him and his oldest son. The kids still work there, but they have other employees too. What does remain the same is the quality and taste of their food. Every time I bite into a slice I'm reminded of Sunday afternoons in my childhood. My dad would buy a large pie every Sunday and my brother, sister and I would fight for the last slice. LOL. I live in the Hamilton area now but still get my pizza from Covello's at least three times a month. Now I have two sons and they only want Covello's pizza. Great job Covello's, thank you for sticking with T-town and still providing authentic and delicious Italian food. You may not know it, but you're creating generational traditions with your pizza. I just ordered one for delivery.

BTW, someone mentioned the prices are different from what is listed. I just wanted to mention that whenever you order food for delivery, there is a small delivery fee. Every business I use for delivery charge that fee, but even with that tiny charge, Covello's prices are still very reasonable.

If it is ok for a business to treat Blacks like second class citizens then this place is great! I made an order they said would take 20 mins. I arrived there in about 30 mins with my son. We stood in front of the counter for at least 5 mins every one looked right passed at and passed me, no one asked "can I help you" or anything of the sort. A white man came in, the owner hops out of his seat immediately and says "Sir can I help you and immediately gives the gentleman his food and sends him on his way. So I spoke up and said hey I've been standing here can I get the pizza I ordered. He then pulls out a cold pre made pizza from under the counter that was was nothing like what I ordered and said can "you wait longer so I can put toppings on it!
