This is the second time we were here for a special occasion, both times (anniversary/bday). The first set of pictures are from February and then from April. We were pleased with our food both times, but what we found very odd was that the server asks you if you'd like "bread service" but you have to pay extra for each serving of bread. About 8 weeks ago in February, it was a dollar but when we went in April, it was $3. This is the first time in all my recollection that you get charged extra for your first serving of bread at a restaurant where all they need to do is just add like seventy five cents to each meal to cover the cost of the bread. Granted, some people are brought bread and don't eat it, but you can ask the customer if they'd like bread and tell them that the first serving of bread is complementary, but there's a charge for each additional loaf. 😕 just wow. It's a brand new building, so it is very nice inside and out, a little rustic. They have booths and tables inside and have a couple of tables outside if you prefer outdoor dining. The parking is a little difficult because they share the lot with Elle Cocina next door and the parking lot is sand and dirt, so if you're wearing heels or open shoes, be prepared to get sand on your feet. The waitress was polite and the service was okay, we had to wait a while to get refills on our drinks and it was not that busy when we were there that night, but the waitress didn't come often enough to make sure that our drinks were refilled. We also had to wait a while when we were already finished to get the check and to get some to go boxes. The food was a tad bit salty, but it came out timely and we enjoyed it. We ordered steaks and shrimp and baked potato and potatoes au gratin. Some of the steaks are pretty expensive, but there are many things to choose from on the menu that won't break the bank and I'd recommend trying it, checking it out at...
Read moreMy coworker and I stopped at Green Barn Prime for dinner on a Monday night after skipping lunch earlier that day, so to say the least, we were starving! True to its name, the restaurant is housed in a charming green barn. Inside, it was beautifully decorated for the season and exceptionally clean, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
Our server, Julie, was fantastic from start to finish. She recommended their bread service, which featured fresh-baked bread that was still in the oven when we arrived. We couldn’t resist, and we’re so glad we didn’t. When it came out, the bread was piping hot, and the butter melted into it perfectly. It was a little slice of crusty heaven.
Instead of ordering from the regular menu, I decided to try two items from their daily specials. First up was the Slider Trio Appetizer ($14), featuring mini versions of three of their specialty burgers. Each slider was packed with flavor and substantial enough to be a meal on its own. For my entrée, I chose the Shrimp and Grits with Tasso Gravy ($16). The grits were creamy and perfectly cooked, the shrimp were plump and tender, and the Tasso gravy had just the right amount of spice. Every bite was absolutely delicious.
We also grabbed a banana pudding to go. While it was good, I was a little disappointed that it didn’t include vanilla wafers, which I always associate with classic banana pudding.
Overall, our experience was excellent. Julie provided top-notch service, and the food exceeded our expectations. We even recommended Green Barn Prime to our other coworkers, who stopped by later that evening for dinner and enjoyed it as well. We’ll definitely...
Read moreI've been to Green Barn twice now. Service has been outstanding both times and no wait both times I went (though I did have reservations each time).
So far I have tried either from my order or from that of my party... the Boudin Balls (twice), Ahi Tuna (twice), Fried Green Tomatoes (twice), Cesar Salad, Shrimp Cajun Pasta, sirloin, parmesean crusted chicken, Ribeye (amazing!!!!!!), thai chili burger, roasted parmesean cauliflower (twice), au gratin potatoes, banana pudding and the key lime carlotta and the tableside bread.
So far if I went back and could only choose from the above options I'd absolutely get the boudin balls as a starter, the ribeye with the parmesean cauliflower and a side Cesar salad with the key lime carlotta for dessert. The ribeye was the best I've had eating out in a very long time.
My only constructive criticism is to offer better bread.. ours was dry and hard. The butter was also super cold so it crumbled instead of spread. It would be amazing to have some fresh bread! Another suggestion would be to offer a slice of garlic bread with your pasta since it doesn't come with sides. 😊 Besides that just maybe some better parking which I know I read in another post that updates to the parking will be coming.
Great job to the front and...
