Let me start by saying that the 3 star rating is due to a very long wait for our food. I was one of a party of 8. We had booked a table for 6:15 and were seated at that time. The restaurant was very crowded with all tables occupied and quite a few people waiting. The wait staff consisted of two women waiting tables and another tending bar and that is a problem in an establishment this large. It took 1:25 to get our food-and this was not due to inattentiveness on the part of our server but the number of tables she was responsible for. Also I understand that in Germany as in most of Europe service is- and dining is- a leisurely experience because I travel overseas often -but this is plain and simple being understaffed. Also at many of the places I have been to overseas a small plate of appetizers or a basket of bread will be brought to the table to tide the patron over as they await their meal but here there was no acknowledgement of any delay nor was there an offer of any tidbits or bread. The food -when we finally received it-was tasty and it was reasonably priced but there is no justification for a wait that long. I realize it is a family business and that is what makes it appealing but they simply have to hire both kitchen and wait staff if they want to continue to do well. A number of people waiting on tables gave up and left. Whether all of the delay was due to the fact that it was a Saturday night was not clear but I doubt if I will return to find out. It's a shame because in a world of cookie cutter eateries it is exciting to hear of one that isn't part of a...

The food was really quite good, but I wouldn't call it authentic. Having lived in Germany for a few years, I was expecting more flavor from both the schnitzel and the jaeger sauce. The Bavarian side dish lacked vinegar, and their preferred mustard was yellow French's (we apparently had to request German mustard). The portions were substantial, though; so, anyone looking for hearty food at a decent price alongside authentic German beer might enjoy it. I have to say we were taken aback when we entered the restaurant at 3:20 in the afternoon and the person who appeared to be the lead server launched into a drawn out explanation regarding a big party she was expecting at 6:30. She was using that as her explanation for not being able to seat us at the 6 empty tables we saw. We had to reassure her that we weren't going to "sit and stay forever" (her words) before we finally sat at the bar. This prompted me to ask how long they had been open. I expected them to say that they had only recently opened due to their panic over not being prepared to seat a large party three hours away. Nope. They've been open for more than a year. It took me a bit to figure out what the real problem was. It took 20 minutes for our cold pretzels to arrive, and 30 minutes for soup. Our Bavarian side dish was delivered next, 40 minutes after we ordered, and our entrees arrived 50 minutes after we originally placed our orders. Their menu is HUGE. Perhaps they should consider streamlining their menu if it is the cause of their not being able to serve walk-in customers. We ate our fill and left. We...

I had a craving for German food and found the Bavarian Kitchen in Troutman. I called during lunch and asked if there was seating outside and could I bring my puppy and I was told yes, of course. I let them know that I would be there when they open for dinner. When I arrived they told me that the beer garden was in back and just to go around. I said down and was promptly received from my waitress and it looks like the chef carrying a large bowl of water for my dog!

I ordered the Schnitzel "Weiner Art" with french fries and 16oz Hofbrau Muchen Hefe Weissbier.

When my dinner arrived there was a slight mix up and another waitress took mine with the French fries and my waitress told me that the one should have had spaetzle. She said that French fries were coming very soon. For me it was a win-win! I wanted to try the spaetzle but ordered the French fries for my puppy.

My dinner was delicious! The schnitzel was very tasty and the French fries were the bomb! Nice and crunchy! Large portions and I boxed up half to go. However, I also ordered dessert the portion was huge and the cake was very moist and the cream was between the two layers of cake. I loved the toasted almonds on top. It was one of Anita's kuchen specials. Had to have a take out container for half of the dessert.

A shout out to my waitress, you very attentive and had the to go containers already before I needed to...

We drove an hour from SC to try this place and we weren't disappointed. Of all the German places in the Charlotte area, this one is the best we've tried so far. We began with schnapps, Bärenjäger, beer samples, and Obazda which is a brie and onion cheese dip. We also got the Frühlings dip (feta and leek/green onion dip) but my heart is forever true to obazda. We quickly had to order more bread as our table of six demolished our portion quickly! Going back to the drinks, I highly recommend trying the bärenjäger and peach schnapps. Both went down like a silky dream. Thankfully my table agreed as we settle in to each order a different meal so we could each try a sampling from the each other's plate. We all tried a variety of schnitzel and cordon Bleu. what really stood out was the daily special: the Jager meatball . I'm unsure of the meals name but if they offer you a meatball with mushroom sauce you better take it! An almost intensely flavorful meatball drowning in jagersauce resting on a bed of spaetzle. *chef's kiss* which brings me to another shining realization: the spaeztle ARE made in house! I finished my meal with a chocolate mocha and a realization that my neighborhood really needs to step up its German food game. We didn't have dessert this time around but look forward to visiting again! Excellent food and service, Bayerische Küche! Vielen danke für das gute essen!
