Attempted to take my family for dinner here. Just celebrated my birthday a few days prior. I was carded when I ordered a beer - mind you I’m in my 40s with gray hair. My license was a few days past the renewal date. After placing our food and drink order the manager came to our table and said I couldn’t be served a beer because my license just expired. I explained to him that he does not understand Michigan law correctly and that he can validate that I am of age based on my official license. He proceeded to mock me and tell me I was wrong. After trying to reason with him, it got worse so I left with my family after being denied service. The manager was condescending as if I had no idea what I was talking about. It was a bad experience so we left and ate at another restaurant. It’s pretty surprising that the management of this tavern doesn’t even know the law. I’ll post it so if this situation arises you don’t deny customers like that again.
“The law requires that someone making the sale of alcoholic beverages to a customer to make a "diligent inquiry" as to that persons age. MCL 436.1701, Section 701 (11) (b) of the Michigan Liquor Control Code states "Diligent inquiry means a diligent good faith effort to determine the age of the person, which includes at least an examination of an official Michigan operator's or chauffeur's license, an official Michigan personal identification card, a military identification card, or any other bona fide picture identification which establishes the identity and age of the person." It should be emphasized that the ultimate responsibility rests with the seller. If you are not convinced that the buyer is 21 or over, do not make the sale.”
My license was official and it established my age. You could have handled the situation much more professionally...

What a fun time. We stayed in the “Lodge”, a little enclosed patio area with a fireplace & a bunch of flat screens. Super cozy, if you get cold, they even have a blanket ladder or two.
We weren’t there long & we had our first round and some appetizers. That baked cheese dip was every bit as good as it looked in the video I’ve posted below.
I can’t even begin to tell how good my fish taco dinner was. Thats a lie, Ive begun lol.
Bite size fried fish, grilled flour tortillas, a cilantro cabbage slaw, all complimented with pickled red onions & a spicy sriracha sauce. Fingers to lips delicious. As if that wasn’t enough it’s served some flavorful grilled street corn, I will most likely order an extra side of this when I return.
I highly recommend this spot to watch a game, meet some friends on the patio, date night or if you just want some good food.
Service was great, food...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped in for the brunch today since we had a great lunch experience in the past. We were excited to have some cocktails and relax on the patio. The vibe was great but the service led to most of our disappointment. It could have been situational as a party of 16 sat down shortly after we did. The drinks were slow to arrive, which was disappointing since we came to celebrate. In 2 hours we only got 2 drinks. My food was great but my wife’s food came out stone cold and she only ate one bite. No one ever came back to check on it and when our server brought the check she noticed the plate hadn’t been touched but only asked if she wanted a box to go. Figuring since we weren’t being served and no one seemed to care if we enjoyed our meals or not, we paid and left. Personally I’d like to give this place another shot since we met the owner and was very pleased prior to this visit, but today was a...
