I’ll start by saying the food was enjoyable. I would still order from here for takeout. They deserve that credit.
For the service, there’s definitely room for improvement. We had to ask repeatedly for utensils (spoons for soup), an extra cup for the sake my wife and I were splitting, and another bowl for soy sauce (there wasn’t one for each person), none of which came. Our friends had to ask repeatedly for their drinks. The dining side had three other patrons at the time, but perhaps they were spread thin by the hibachi side. Either way, their staff could be more attentive .
We were there for the unlimited sushi. Like I said the portions were great and food delicious (be warned, though, the Lemongrass Hot and Sour has seafood in it, which I wish it stayed on the menu). However, we put in one order and there was no follow up to see if you wanted more. Like I said, the portions were decent so it wasn’t really an issue. But it appears you should order everything you’ll want up front rather than order as you eat like most all you can eat sushi. Not so much a neg as a point you should know to set expectations.
Lastly, the atmosphere. This critism is, unfortunately, more of a reflection on the parents in this town. The people sitting behind us had their kid playing on an iPad at full blast. Later, they let their kid poke and pat us on our backs while we ate and let their child roam to the other tables where people were eating.
The people from the hibachi side let their children run free. Two children came to our side of the dining and started playing with the table settings of the open tables while their dad watched drinking his beer. Another child was banging on a decorative drum, pounding away, while parents just watched. Classic case of people making their kids other peoples issue. We share a space and all have the right to enjoy a night out.
The lack of discipline with this children, the parents watching it happen and saying nothing and the staff not saying anything either left us not wanting to return.
With that said, I would say this is a take-out only...
Read moreI frequent this place because I can walk to it but I find it very inconsistent. Quality is decent but the service is slow and lacking. I can’t blame the staff entirely, I think it’s management and their lack of involvement and accountability.
Numerous times I’ve missed items in my takeout and even had other people say that to me in the waiting room. I call and I’m told 20 minutes only to show up and wait 25 more minutes then to be told it’s another 20 minutes and apologized to by what seemed to be the manager, saying they got busy.
There was 1 hibachi table occupied and 2 small tables occupied when I got there. I understand there is lots of takeout but if it gets busy after I place my order that shouldn’t impact my order if they are prepped in the order they are received?
Why I feel this is managements responsibility (and I hope they or ownership are reading this) is because I watched the manager-apparent sitting at the sushi bar eating and drinking while his staff was running around the restaurant trying to take the calls and also wait on tables. He stepped in to help only after he finished eating and even then it was minimal. With 4 people waiting for 20+ minutes in his lobby he showed no urgency or empathy (one of those people was an elderly woman with a cane). There are tons of “help needed” signs all over, I wouldn’t work for people who show so little care or desire for customers and employees.
Bianco Rosso on the other side of the parking lot apologized once for giving me the wrong dish by providing the correct dish and a $25 gift card (and I was prepared to eat the dish they gave me) They have earned my business and referrals for something so insignificant. But if I had a similar experience with them, it wouldn’t be as bad and I would go back because they at least made an effort.
Mici has my Asian food business from now on, never had...
Read moreWent with my Mom six month of not going and this restaurant has changed a lot, we got the lunch special sushi. might I add it was extremely depressing my mom got a California roll and a shrimp tempura roll. I got spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and spicy yellowtail roll. All in all it was extremely disappointing the rolls looked extremely minuscule some barely having rice on them and the insides were lack luster as well . I understand businesses are hurting due to the current pandemic but rice?!? I may be mistaken as well but we only got 6 pieces of each roll which before at the start of the pandemic we received 8. If i could get my money back i would go to Big Y and get my sushi there. The atmosphere was extremely dirty and dusty, the whole vibe was not inviting at all, when we made a small complaint to the waitress all she could say was,“Oh” and then walk away with our check. Absolutely ridiculous, i used to love this restaurant but what we seen and consumed today we wont be returning and I'm writing this to save people the headache. Don’t go here they have gone very downhill i cant speak on the hibachi but the sushi was worse then grocery store bought sushi. Basically had a healthy meal of seaweed rolls with 7 grains of rice on each...
