Update: Your response just sounds like you want to make excuses for your staff instead of acknowledging our shared very unfortunate experience, not just a little unfortunate... otherwise I wouldn't take the time to give such a lengthy review for future goers to have an idea about how things can roll here. Running out of certain things is understandable but a top side dish like fries well in all my many, many years of eating out this is a first which is saying a lot... It's no biggy, I just mentioned it to encompass the overall unfavorable experience we had and honestly just how bizarre that really is for a restaurant... According to your current menu you only have two side options to begin with which means we only had one option. Even food trucks have more options... I normally do review places we eat out at actually that have exceptional service the reason I didn't with that first one was because we just grabbed a small bite to eat and didn't have a proper sit down experience to get the big picture about a place to then give people who might read reviews an idea about the detailed idea they might be looking for when trying to get an idea about a place although we had a very pleasant experience the first time and despite it being a quick in & out it could have happily been an exception to my current system in hindsight since the lady was so pleasant overall. I'm sad to hear that you as the owner have no plans to try to better things on your end regarding this since all you said was we all get thrown off sometimes which of course is true but shows me you are making no plans to do better on your end just that you expect customers to do the adjusting. We had other options and still have them. I suppose our first experience spoiled us and instead of saying something like you're sad we had a sad experience you want us to adjust to this level of supposed service. It's now been a doubly unfortunate experience for us knowing you basically condone poor service from your staff and now makes perfect sense why this waitress acts the way she did with us if she knows you'll make excuses for her... We all better ourselves at our own pace of course. I'm no saint myself. We've both now been informed of each others perspectives on the matter. It is what it is.
We had a generally unfortunate experience here. It took about 10 minutes for the waitress that was walking past us a few times before we got acknowledged by her and even then we received no greeting, she went straight to asking us what we're having to drink while looking at her notepad like she wanted no eye contact with us and it wasn't that busy when we stopped by. We got the older waitress with glasses. She kept chatting with the people next to us and asked how their food was meanwhile we got practically nothing and when we were ordering she was acting irritable whenever we asked a clarifying question and just had a general unwarranted power-trippiness about her. Maybe having a bad day? Well it showed very much in our experience here today. She even blatantly ignored a younger waitress at one point. And to boot they didn't have fries. Very odd. Maybe you gotta look a certain way to get acknowledged with respect here by the one we got. Won't go too low on the stars because the last experience when we sat at the bar and were served with a different older lady that was short-ish with silver hair and a braid was phenomenal and it was way bussier when we...
Read moreMy hubby & I were truly excited to finally try this new restaurant in our town, and it did NOT disappoint!
Located on Trade Street which runs through our town's center, it has indoor & outdoor seating, free parking on Trade Street as well as in a nearby lot a few shops away, near our town mascot Morris, near Depot on Pacolet Street (parking won't be an issue obviously and it's FREE), they have their smoker going on the plaza so you get to smell their beef & pork going!), and the interior is cozy retro from 70's & 80's, indoor & outdoor bar area (obviously outdoor seating & bar area will be weather dependent).
We were immediately greeted by owner Tracy, and we took a seat near entrance. Seating is pretty cool with different retro themes used to upholster the chairs (I chose KISS & hubby had disco balls😁). Love the hightops that have bench seating against wall that is lined with retro images and hightop chairs on opposite side. There is plenty of seating out front as well as in rear sections with plenty of light from both front & rear facing windows. The bar area is to the right & looks to be shaping up to a good wine/liquor/beer selection. Several tvs are monted throughout to air games. Overall, it was a great, laid-back feel to the place that all (kids included) can enjoy.
Tracy took great care of us, and we really enjoyed getting to chat with her throughout our visit. Feeling you are truly wanted & appreciated at a business is key, and they do an excellent job of that.
We started with the bacon jam deviled eggs appetizer, which we shared (and we had 6 eggs which was perfect - I don't get the places that give you an odd amount of eggs like, where did that other half of egg go🤷♀️). They were so yummy with the sweet, bacony concoction on them with just the right amount on them to pop.
I opted for the Owen's pulled pork sandwich with housemade seasoned chips, and my hubby had the Godfather with seasoned fries(see menu picture for full food descriptions). My sandwich was perfect with the tender smoked pulled pork lightly dressed on lightly toasted bun, and Tracy hooked me up happily with extra sauce as I like it saucy 😋. The chips were perfectly crunchy yet tender. My hubby loved the quality & flavor of meats on his Godfather & only thing he would improve on it is if it was a little less toasty as not to dry the bun edges so much. His fries were so good, too, with their crabby seasoning. We tasted each others food and loved it all❤️🤤 We both had sweet tea for this first go & enjoyed its well-balanced sweetness.
Next go-around, I plan to have a good, cold beer with some of their rocky rolls and statefair pit beef sandwich! Keeping a lookout for their homemade desserts when they start...
Read moreWhat a great place for a great bite. It appears they took an old filling station and transformed it into an amazing restaurant/pub. Beautiful patio outside with tons of seating. We were in the next town to Tryon, Landrum, SC, at a local hot spot for lunch but the line was long. We drove about 10 minutes into downtown Tryon, and noticed the great looking brick building. Shortly after we sat down the place started to fill up. Our server “Christine” greeted us with a nice smile and made us feel so comfortable! She was “Johnny in the spot” with taking our order. Oh yea, the food! I got a burger that was cooked perfectly and my wife got a salad served in the most unusual shape bowl which made eating the salad so easy. So my review is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The only issue I had was, I asked for one of your very cool T shirts and we were told that they were just for the employees. We were instructed to “Ask the boss” Either way, we will still return to one of the coolest and great...
