I’ve supported this business ever since I moved to Tucker, but I have not been impressed with my recent experiences.
Her is my latest experience... I visited El Indio in Tucker for my usual order of 3 birria tacos. Typically, I opt for takeout, but this time I decided to dine in. The experience left me with mixed feelings, prompting me to reflect on the changing aspects of El Indio.
Ordering and Water Dilemma: ★★☆☆☆ Upon requesting a cup of tap water to accompany my meal, I was informed that they only sold bottled water. Opting for a bottled water felt like a nickel-and-diming strategy, considering the exorbitant price compared to a local grocery store.
Price Hike and Value: ★★☆☆☆ El Indio seems to have increased its prices, and this, coupled with the decline in food quality, raises concerns. The birria taco soup, once rich and savory, now seems watered down. While the food is still good, the diminishing quality and higher prices make it a less appealing option. As a paying customer, it's disheartening to witness a compromise on both fronts.
Customer Service: ★☆☆☆☆ The pinnacle of disappointment lies in the deteriorating customer service. The staff's initial reluctance to provide tap water with your meal & the decision to charge for additional taco sauce leave a bitter taste. As a patron, I expect a level of service commensurate with the prices I'm paying. Unfortunately, it seems El Indio is veering away from prioritizing customer satisfaction.
Lack of Transparency: ★☆☆☆☆ Adding to the frustration is the absence of receipts for credit card transactions. It's essential to have a record of purchases, and the omission of receipts raises questions about transparency in their operations. Customers deserve clear documentation of their transactions, especially when prices are on the rise.
In conclusion, while El Indio's food quality remains decent, the overall experience has been marred by declining customer service, escalating prices, and a lack of transparency. For the price paid, the subpar treatment and questionable practices make it difficult to justify a return visit. As a loyal customer, I hope El Indio addresses these concerns to restore the once-enjoyable...
Read moreTHE FOOD WAS AHHH-MAZING!
My friends and I consistently share restaurants and food reels we come across, but not all of the places make it out of the group chat: but Rey Taco did. It was the birria Mac n Cheese that sealed the deal for us and it was divineeee!!!
It was very flavorful, cheesy, and cooked to perfection. Now they did tell us that they're more known for the hot Cheeto bomb, but I think the Mac N Cheese is going to take that spot very soon. If I remember correctly, it's a pretty recent addition and hasn't been fully added to the main menu, but they do have it! You just gotta ask for it.
Now I ordered the #1 (two birria tacos)-- one chicken and the other beef-- with onion and cilantro. I also ordered the corn (small), the hot Cheeto bomb, and a drink (a mixture that Jr. let my friend and I sample and it was super tasty).
My friend got the same drink, the Mac N Cheese and the #3 (birria quesadilla) with beef.
The service was amazing and they bring the food to your table. We also got a few orders to go for other friends who couldn't make it tonight. So happy we came!
Now they do close at 10 PM on Thursdays, and it's a hard stop, so don't linger too long. The atmosphere was friendly and comfortable 🙂 I'll definitely be...
