Yesterday January 11,2021, I decided to go in for some hotdog buns with two of my children. Although I prefer Estrellas I wasn’t in the mood to wait in line and noticed that the parking lot was pretty empty at Alejandro’s, wasn’t sure if it was opened actually. We walked in and as usual the two ladies at the register having their own conversation, no one ever greets you there. So we make our way to the back, grab the buns and of course my kids asked for Pan Dulce. We also grabbed a liter of RC cola. We walked up to the register to pay for our items, I did noticed two packs of corn tortillas on the counter, I looked around to see if someone was in line before us, no one was there so I put my items ahead so the girl could ring me up. Never does she say hello, no acknowledgement what’s so ever she’s still having the some conversation with her other co worker. She asks me Debit or Credit in Spanish, I answer back Debit and she still charges me Credit. We get our items and start making our way out the door and I noticed that I was over charged. As my kids stay in the car I go back inside with my receipt and asked one of the cashiers to look at my receipt and asked her to tell me what I’ve been charged for, she starts reading the items of the receipt and says corn tortillas, I then tell her that I didn’t purchase any corn tortillas. She then asks me for my bags, I tell her that they’re in my car. So I go get the bags and she looks through them and asked “ where are the corn tortillas “ I say I didn’t buy any, I don’t know but you did charge me for them and I want my money back. She rolls her eyes at me and says “ come to this other register”, as I move to the other register she calls the manager and by this time there was a few customers in there already. So the manager walks up to her and asks her what’s going on, she than tells him the issue, and they were having a whole conversation about this situation going on and on about the corn tortillas, speaking in Spanish thinking I guess I didn’t know my native language. So I say to him in Spanish to talk to me, ask me that I too spoke Spanish. I can tell he was a bit shocked or maybe even embarrassed that I a paying customer was being treated as a Corn Tortilla Thief! He continued asking for the tortillas and I continued telling them that I didn’t know, I didn’t come in for corn tortillas, I didn’t want corn tortillas and I don’t have any corn tortillas. By this time other customers were an audience, I was so humiliated. I asked the manager to go to my car and search for his corn tortillas but of course he didn’t and wouldn’t! I’ve had issues with employees there before but nothing like this. I would never, ever give them my hard earned money again!!!! They have NO skills in customer service, the ladies they have at the register are always gossiping! Honestly I don’t know why this day I decided to stop, I should stopped at ESTRELLAS. Yeah I would have been in line but at least I would have been treated with RESPECT...

Read moreAlejandro's is inside a little market in the shopping center and features a small restaurant as well as the ability to see workers producing the fresh bread products (similar to watching the cooks at In and Out). There is a small dining area for eating, fountain drinks and of course FRESH tortillas! The food was good although under seasoned compared with similar food establishments in the area but enjoyed regardless.
As to the tortillas which seem to be a hot topic in their reviews, I've now purchased them on multiple occasions and can say that some of the peeling is relative to how freshly you want to eat them. If I try and open them same day I get a great deal more than if I wait a couple days. Also microwaving the pack of tortillas for a small amount of time seems to help a lot if you're trying to eat them same day. That being said I didn't have a horrible experience like others claim to have and the taste is great--don't forget to warm on your stove...
