Funland Raspados & Munchies — Restaurant in Tucson

Pretty terrible, I'd give this a hard pass. The ice in the raspados is about the texture of the crushed ice that you'd get out of your fridge (not super fine powder like Hawaiian shave ice or Italian ice, or even as fine as a snow cone or eegees) which basically makes them crunchy and really kind of bad on your teeth, sort of like someone gave you a flat fruit soda. The fruit (eg: peaches, pineapple) is mostly from cans, and in syrup, so it's all pretty mushy and overly sugary. The ingredients also are not cold enough, so when it is mixed together it becomes this kind of sugary slop goo that's entirely unappetizing. The aftertaste lingers, and it's the same unpleasant feeling that you get if you just eat a spoonful of artificial maple syrup.

You'd be much better off with an Eegees if you really wanted the sweet ice kind of thing, or at Dairy Queen (or even McDonald's) if you wanted an ice cream treat. And you could probably do both in less time than it...

I went in this location last night and ordered 3 of the easiest things. A raspado, hot Cheetos with cheese and a bottled water. I placed my order at 8:13 pm. The grown man at the register who was taking orders continuously came out from behind the counter to sit at a table with another customer to ask how he and his children were doing. People had come in after me and received their orders while I was still waiting. After 30 mins I asked them what was going on and what was taking so long. No one had a clue. The women working in the back were confused because they don’t see my order, their cashier didn’t give me a receipt but I was charged and had been waiting for almost 45 mins at this point. No one offered an apology for the wait or the inconvenience. They rushed to make my order to mainly get me out because I kept asking what the hold up was. I won’t ever go into this location again. Paid for food they didn't get right. Paid for extras that I didn't receive. Told the girl that I was missing a drink and she said no. So I asked for my receipt because I had left my confirmation email in the car. I ordered online so I thought maybe I didn't order it right. However all of it was on the receipt. She rolled her eyes and said she would make it. My elotes had special instructions and they weren't followed. The part that's the craziest is my order was 41.00 yet my card was charged 49.00. 41 included my tip that I had left prematurely. I'll call in morning to verify what my order amount was. Def not the best place ive been to..might not be back next...
