Great little place to grab a pizza, hero sandwich, salad and fries at. The menu is small but has great variety of choices to choose from. Had a full pizza and a "slice" which is half of a 14" pizza. They also make home made Italian ice in lime and strawberry lemonade. It's the right amount of tart and sweet. Since the place is new it can get busy so seating is tight inside but also provided plenty of tables outside around the building. Food came out after about 10 min that's about average for most places. Tables were clean, restroom was decent. Maybe have one worker dedicated to the lobby and stocking, cleaning, helping out. They offer a drive though which is a twist on the regular pizza joints. The pizza look and feel similar to mod pizzas but more buttery. You can add extra toping to the pizzas and fries. Deft try the garlic fries add chicken. We will be back to try more flavors of fries and pizzas.

Very mixed feelings so far for this restaurant. Two out of three times, the food was amazing, and everything went well. (Highly recommended the cheesy garlic bread, jalapeño poppers and the Iced tea flavor Italian Ice) However, the other time was horrific. The lady working the drive-through had some of the worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. On top of that, 3/4 of my order was either wrong or just ruined. Smashed, half full sandwiches, Italian ice were all the wrong flavors, cheesy garlic bread was burnt. I did call, and the manager did attempt to make things right, which is always appreciated. However, because of this out of character experience, I do NOT recommend going here after 9PM, staff and food do not reflect the usual wonderful experience my family and I have had.

This was our first time here. My fiance had a pizza which was 12" and some ranch fries. He said the pizza need to be more crispy but was otherwise good. The ranch fries needed more ranch so we got some to dip into. I got a slice and garlic fries. The slice is about half the size of the 12"pizza. Mine was BBQ chicken. The girl taking my order even asked if I wanted the bleu cheese that comes on the pizza. Im glad she asked because I surely did NOT want the bleu cheese. The pizza was good but also could've been a bit more crispy. Will request that next time. The garlic fries are good but strong so I dipped in ranch. The service was quick. The food was ready by thr time I got out of the restroom. Clean place.

I'm a Tucson native and eegees was my first job in HS, so I've got that ice in my veins. I was super stoked to hear the original owners opened up a "new old eegees" in Slice and Ice. Overall it didn't live up to the hype, but there are some bright spots:

  • Drinks are awesome. More slushy/slurpee style than eegees "drier" drinks. Great flavors. Had watermelon - AMAZING - orange pineapple (ok, more orange than pineapple), strawberry lemon (more subtle and very good).
  • Ranch is like old school eegees ranch. Thinner and more flavorful than the current eegees ranch cups and 3x the size! With some fries, this is gold!!
  • Sandwiches are actually really good. Tried a 3 meat Italian (similar to the OG eegees grinder) and found the meat to taste better, the ratios were better (more pickles for zingy crunch), and they put mayo on it for a slightly different (yet very good) change. Biggest improvement was the bread tho - it was VERY good. Soft but slightly crusty and perfect for the sandwich. But there were some less stellar choices: --- pizza is... questionable. It's a flat bread style. Super thin. But not good thin. They managed to still under cook the middle even tho the edges were burnt. And this wasn't an artisan/Napoli style margherita dough. It was like a tortilla and a pizza had a baby that didn't cook long enough. My wife said they should not be allowed to call themselves "slice" with this big of a downfall. Thing is that it's fixable. Get the temp down and cook the middle just a bit more. Maybe look at a different dough style. --- menu needs help too. For example, their BBQ chicken pizza had all the needed parts: red onion, chicken, cheese, a little drizzle of sweet BBQ sauce... and BLEU CHEESE!?!? WHAT? Ok, they have a buffalo pizza. Sure. Bleu cheese totally fits there. NOT on a BBQ pizza. And that MIGHT be excusable if the toppings were posted anywhere. They list every sandwich topping. But pizzas are left to a picture only. Come on. You can do better on that.

All in all, I'll go back. Probably not as soon as if all these issues weren't there, but I love supporting local and nostalgia and this is both. I just know that when I go, I'll get a drink, fries and ranch, and a sandwich and leave the...

On the many occasions we have eaten here since it opened, the food has been very good. However, there needs to be some attention to their drive-through especially on Friday nights, because this seems to be an ongoing problem after reading some of the other reviews. We waited almost 40 minutes in the drive-through, with only two cars in front of us, before we made it up to the window. Initially, after waiting 15 minutes, we called from the car to see if there was a problem. We were told that they had started to clean up and didn't expect a rush. We were in the drive-through before 9 PM, and their closing time is at 10 - unacceptable, especially for a weekend night. When we got up to the window, the teenager had zero customer service skills and was very rude to us. We spoke to the manager, Nathan who was very nice, was just too young to handle his position. We left without even getting our food, resolving to not return. Normally, we support small businesses and small business owners in Tucson, because they are going the way of the dinosaur as all these California corporations move in. But not having a manager on premise that can handle situations like this, and also being told the owner is never there, I have no desire to support a small business owner who doesn't care enough about his own business to be hands-on. (specifically, we were told no one was allowed to contact the owner, except for the...

I love Slice and Ice; my whole family does. We prefer it over Eegee’s. I come here weekly for lunch, normally getting a cheese/veggie pizza, salad, and fries since I’m vegetarian, always having a great experience.

Well, today I stopped by for lunch, ordered my veggie pizza and fries, and got my food - I didn’t think anything of it. But when I got to work, I noticed they gave me a sandwich with meat in it instead. I was already back at work, unfortunately, and it was my mistake not to double-check my food, but I was in a rush. I called when I got off work, trying to explain what happened, and the young woman who answered the phone was extremely rude, insinuating that it was my fault for not noticing I didn’t get a pizza box. I continued to get no help and decided to bring my receipt and my uneaten sandwich back to Slice and Ice to try and resolve this. I didn’t know it was going to be such an issue getting something they got wrong fixed. I pulled up to the drive-thru, and the same girl who rudely answered the phone was the person helping me. She grabbed my bag and receipt, said nothing, and closed the window. She starts talking to her coworker, who then opens the window and says he’s going to rectify the situation and give me the correct order. Why not just say it was a mistake to begin with and spare me all the bad customer service? This experience has me not wanting to go to Slice and Ice...
