Sausage Deli only serves sausage one day a week, and for that sole reason has a negative review.
I really wish I could have been introduced to Sausage Deli on better terms. When I visited on a Saturday, I ordered and enjoyed their Reuben sandwich, some salt and vinegar chips, and a cherry coke. The combo was reasonably priced, and the Reuben, though a tad small, was made properly and tasted good.
But I wasn't going to Sausage Deli to try their sandwiches, I went there because I was craving a good sausage. But they only serve sausage on Wednesdays, and there is only one sausage item available on that day.
Maybe there's a cute story the owner has about why the word "sausage" is in the name. Maybe it's a little petty of me to give a low review for the name of a restaurant, and not for the quality of food.
But dang it, I was in the mood for sausage, and instead I ate a sandwich because of a misleading business name. It's like if a place called "Taco World" only served tacos on Tuesdays, and sold fried chicken the rest of the week.
If you're looking for a good sandwich combo during lunch, give it a shot. But you won't see me there, not even...
Read moreTaste not too bad , quality not the best , I stopped here based on reviews... Was seeking the best Hot Pastrami Sandwhich is Tucson... Was disappointed , was definitely less than satisfying...pastrami appeared microved , not HOT, from steam. Made the meat texture rubbery and not HOT...its super hard to mess up a hot pastrami...roll, pastrami, mustard, and pickle...pretty sure my sandwhich was on a hotdog roll...with WAY too much mustard... Consistency is key...Slow down make an order right , as ordered, vs being in a hurry and throwing it together because it was ordered slightly different then the way its listed on menu. Grinder was Ok , seems like sandwhich maker REALLY likes his(sauces) italian dressing....bread became satrurated and soggy, kids had to pick the meat off to eat it...Same story with the Artichoke rueben...soggy 😕 Idea of the deli is awesome...definitely room for improvement , with just some minor fixes 😕 Sandwhichery is definitely an art....if you dont have it , dont try it...
Hope you enjoy both the monetary &...

For me, the main thing I just don't understand: lack of sausage. That's my big gripe. For a place called Sausage Deli, I expect...sausage. They have Italian sausage...sometimes. That's it. The Italian sausage is fine. However; with a name like Sausage Deli, I'm expecting sausage as a specialty, I mean sausage is so versatile; Polish, Russian, Hungarian, the endless varieties of Bratwurst, British Bangers, Blood pudding, I mean the list of sausage is endless, you'd think they'd have more on the menu. Hell they'd make a killing if they decided to make their own. You have any idea how much Hipsters and college kids would pay for "locally made sausage"? How about Oktoberfest Sausage with a nice beer when it cools down and the snowbirds start showing up? I'm just saying, guys. Now I write with no ill-intent and I hope the owners go on to see many more years of prosperity. I just expected more...
