Low rating because we were pretty disappointed by the service even though the food and views were good.
First the good. The food was prepared well, tasty, and had relatively generous portions. I enjoyed my short rib and my wife really liked the salmon. The views from the restaurant were beautiful and part of it is open air which was neat in the evening.
Not so good. The cocktails were okay, nothing I would ever go out of my way to get again (to be fair we only got to try one cocktail a piece because the server disappeared). The biggest disappointment was the service. The waitress was nice but very slow. From the time we sat down to the time to get water at the table was probably 15 to 20 minutes, another 15 minutes to take our orders, then about 45 minutes to get our entrees. Unfortunately between ordering our entrees and getting them the waitress never came back to our table so we couldn't even order more drinks. It wasn't particularly busy for a Saturday night and there were a number of open tables. The other diners near us (with the same server) seemed annoyed too. Next time I'm going to spend my money someplace with both good food and...
Read moreOne of the worst dinner experiences I have ever had. So bad, this is the first time I ever bothered write a review. The hotel is great, the ambience and views are superb. However, for the first time ever both my wife and I had to send our orders back. My order of enchiladas was obviously sitting under a heat lamp for hours and in such poor condition I could hardly cut in to it, never mind the taste. My wife's shrimp salad was in no better shape. Ordered the same dish as replacement which even freshly made was nothing special. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of ordering the three layer chocolate cake for dessert. Waited 30+ minutes for a slice of frozen supermarket quality cake. Between myself and two kids we could hardly manage to eat our way through half of a small slice. My 8 year old commented, "all this wait for that." The restaurant is set in a large outdoor area and it is a hit or miss if you see your waiter. Seems we have seen more of the restaurant manager than our waiter through the experience. Drinks were great but expensive. Our waiter was very apologetic witnessing our experience and between her and the manager comped most...
Read moreIt had been years since we visited this lovely resort but decided to do their Easter Brunch at $110 pp. we had a reservation and were seated right next to the server station. When I asked if we could have another of their several empty tables… the young lady said they were specifically assigned to certain people… what? Okay.
Underwhelming on the food/brunch for that price point, and to only include a few standard breakfast beverages was a bummer. They had tons of inexpensive filler foods… the French toast was cold, the scalloped potatoes crunchy (eg potatoes still raw). My hubby did get his fill of shrimp and I enjoyed a couple of the very nice desserts they had on display. It was unclear if Mimosas were included, as we were never offered and noticed at the end other tables imbibing.
Server Brenda was absolutely the best part of the entire experience… all smiles and very attentive. The valet guys...
