The two of us came here the other week to celebrate our anniversary, just like every year. We try a new spa that we have not been to in town, and this one was a letdown. The spa intake forms told us to arrive 30 minutes earlier just to get the tour of the spa when we showed up. They ran my credit card for services and put the tip screen in front of me.And I tipped a couple hundred dollars extra on top of the services already being charged so I assumed being the only spot in town that charges you before anything is done that. It was going to be a great experience. The lady at the reception desk told us to go downstairs, and she took my wife to the female locker room and I stood at a desk, and she said, "The gentleman will be here shortly". I waited for twenty minutes after asking two different employees where the guy was only to have another guest show up and stand there and wait with me. A gentleman showed up at the desk. Finally 5 minutes before my massage was scheduled only to go into the locker room with both of us and give the guy that showed up after me a tour and just threw me in a locker with the wrong size shoes, so I had to find him and chase him down. Just to get a bigger pair of shoes to wear, which made me 10 minutes late to my massage. The masseuse was not very happy with this, and neither was I. We did sign up for a comprehensive tour of the spa, which we did not receive. And I also filled-out the spa pre intake forms for what oils or allergies, or what areas you want them to work on, which we both filled-out, which were clearly not read, because the masseuse massaged my head and neck two different times in the massage, and I asked her both times that was not on the form and I said to stay away from my head and neck because of a surgery. And on top of that, she did not use any of the scents or oils that I selected in the form and then after our massagers, we got facials, the facial went perfect, can't complain about that even tipped the therapist's a little extra because it was so great and then after that. We had our manicures and pedicures as part of their signature journey, which is what we both did that day. And just FYI, for the resort, don't sit 2 clients next to each other that are getting the same procedures done while one client, which was working on my wife clearly did 3 times the amount of stuff to her feet and hands than what was done to me. I watched her right next to me and got longer massages. More work was done on the nails and toes. The girl working on me seemed like she didn't want to be there to do it. Either way, I still tipped all the therapists, an extra 20, just because I'm that type of person. The experience was lackluster, and honestly, I've tried several other spas in this town, and a majority of them are significantly better than this one. This place does have great views. And we did enjoy the steam rooms, but you could get that anywhere because of the nonexistent customer service and the inability to follow forms and time schedules for your own business. We will not be ever returning to your establishment. And I do not recommend anybody wasting their time or money at this place because it'll...
Read moreI would like to file a complaint regarding an employee of your spa. My wife and I spent the day at the Spa Pool and rented a cabana as well as dined there.
Approximately 30 minutes prior to closing I went to shower. A female employee stuck her head into the menâs locker room and indicated we had to leave as they were closing. I rushed to finish showering, exited and put a robe on. I then proceeded to leave with my wife. After we were in the main corridor walking back to my room the employee (Ms. Marissa Bernal) chased us down and told me that I could not leave with the robe. I was naked underneath and walking with my wife. I told her that I was just going to change in my room and she can collect it. She became belligerent and implied that I was trying to steal the robe (when she had my room number and I had just signed my bill at the Spa) embarrassing me in front of my wife and others. We continued to walk and when almost at my room she called me on my cell phone to tell me I had left my Apple AirPods at the cabana. I then walked back and she refused to give me my AirPods until I gave her he robe and hid them in her hands.
I indicated if she wanted to follow me that I was going to file a complaint with the general manager after which she told me that she is good friends with the GM and I can do what I want. At this point she gave me my device back and I went and filed the complaint.
They had security come to my room to retrieve the robe which is fine. She was extremely unprofessional and in my opinion should not be interacting with the public.
In addition the Spa was overpriced and service was extremely poor. Not...
Read more5 stars for HOLLIS! She is incredible and gave me the most personalized massage experience.
I knocked off a single star because I am upset that they changed the robes. Although the last robes were a bit annoying I am unsure what about a hoodie style grey cotton boxer robe says luxury or elegance. I usually associate a spa robe with something a bit heftier and not as casual.
Another thing to note is that the service charge should be explained in a transparent way. I ended up tipping like 50% on my service. I don't regret that in this particular moment because Hollis was literally the best; but I think that if I had an average massage I'd be pretty miffed about that. They don't tell you upfront that your technician is getting 80% of that service charge and they present the bill with an empty gratuity line. It just felt icky as other spas in the area are very transparent about what is expected. I would totally add an additional tip; but most people would not so if you are in that camp just keep...
