Starbucks — Restaurant in Tucson

Short version: This Starbucks is great for convenience, and also if you enjoy deceptive business practices and price gouging.

Long version: While the staff were helpful and efficient, and my drink was great, the prices are deceptive and ridiculously inflated. I understand that third-party locations like this one have different price points than other local Starbucks stores. I get that. However, in town in Tuscon, a tall flat white costs $5.25. At this JW Marriott, it's LISTED at like $6.25. Ok, fine. But then she rang up my drink, it came to 6.64, plus additional tax. All of those numbers just listed were before tax. I pointed out the fact that the listed price did not match the price she rang up. She mumbled something about how those listed prices are different because it's "resource price" vs "retail price". I pointed out that perhaps it's illegal to list one price and charge another.

Furthermore, the employee stated that those misleading prices have always been listed that way, and they have informed their managers that many people complain about it. (It's not like, oh, we updated our prices and these just need to be re-signed.)

This is a really beautiful Starbucks that looks to be recently renovated. It has a full Starbucks menu versus some hotel Starbucks you will find. There is a seating area tucked away behind the bar where you can watch beautiful sunrises.
