On that side of town, stopped in with wife, had not been to Youngs donuts since moved back to Arizona 2 years ago. Saw sign out front “ New Management “ Uh oh… “ Youngs donuts by Rise N Shine…” Went in, not as was before, 1 pm Saturday not much left. IMMEDIATELY SAW DONUTS WERE WAY TALLER / BIGGER. Not the same, but open to try. Lady was nice said new owners took over year and half ago. Anyone from past would say Young’s WAS BEST DONUTS EVER HAD. Super soft, and moist, made the difference. Got assortment of what was left, brought home, had adult kids over, we all said “ good donuts” NOT GREAT! NOT THE SAME AS USED TO BE! NOT BEST DONUTS WE EVER HAD. We all said, Bosa definitely better than these now, Donut wheel, named few other places. I AM BUMMED! Spoke of these with wife for years, she never had them, she likes Bosa better (she’s from Phoenix area), I have to agree.Taller, bigger donuts are NOT AS SOFT AND MOST AS THEY USED TO BE! I only have donuts every few months, but am a foodie, love good food, of any kind. Now, 2025, “YOUNG BY RISE N SHINE DONUTS”, is good. Average, not great. Don’t know what they did to make them bigger, taller; but they are NOT better, only bigger. SAD, Youngs donuts DEFINITELY NOT the best donuts anymore. Bummed, Tucson icon gone. I won’t be back.

I’m so very confused by the positive reviews of this place. I literally had the worst donut experience of my life here today. Every single donut I bought- 7 or so- was completely inedible. Yes, I went in on a Wednesday at 2pm, and yes, I could tell the donuts weren’t fresh. It would have been nice if they’d had a halfway fresh batch and decent selection available seeing as they’re open until 6pm. Oh well, I thought, I’ve heard rave reviews, I’ll still give them a try, opting for a couple glazed, a couple blueberry, an old fashioned and a sprinkled. Every single one was unsightly and gross. Not just not fresh but bad. The blueberry, usually my favorite, was misshapen and inconsistently baked. The old fashioned was off tasting and cardboard in texture. I could tell the glazed were prob decent fresh but the others were terrible and I sadly ended up throwing the whole box away. To make matters worse, neither employee was wearing a mask or especially friendly, despite the fact that I was the only customer and tipped! Long story short, I’m out $7 and still craving a good donut.

Update from 6-7-24 National Donut Day! The best and only kolaches I've found in Tucson... they are phenomenal! Also, I just got my daughter's approval on their plain glazed donuts. They are most like the donuts we love in Texas!!! Original post: Great news for any fellow Texans or others who love the kolache! The new owners of Young Donuts offer cheese or jalapeño sausage kolaches on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only. Born and raised here in Tucson, Terry and her husband Robert learned to make donuts from the previous Cambodian owner. They took over this thriving 20 year old Tucson business in March of this year. Young Donuts by Rise'n Shine Donuts & More offers a good selection, all fresh and delicious! They are also in the process of adding to their menu.

I have been going here for years. I stopped when I had a bad experience. I tried it again when I found out they were under new management, it has completely got rid of the bad and replaced it with YUMMY. I go there at least once or twice a week. I’d go more often but my husband found donut crumbs in my car. I didn’t even have time to remember any of the millions of excuses floating around in my head to use. He knew I was on a sugar high.

The broasted chicken is the best. Crispy on the outside and moist and juicy on the inside. It’s SO good

I was over the moon when I found out that they had kolaches on Friday and Saturday. Soft and tender can’t even describe it. You have to experience it for yourself.

They have the best breakfast burritos. I got one for my husband and he loved it! I do believe that he loves it more than he loves me! They make a certain daily kind each day. Nice, fresh, hot and made from REAL EGGS. Not bagged eggs.

On to the DONUTS! My most favorite one is this cherry thing split in half, with cream and cherries almost oozing out of the sides. IT’S SO good. I can’t even describe the taste. Just describing it makes my mouth water.

The person in charge of baking is Robert. He is the baking magician. There are so many choices of donuts to choose from. It’s a good thing that I don’t work there. No donut would be safe. If you want something special, just ask them. If they could do it..they will!!

Robert’s wife is Terry “the boss”. Every one there is so friendly. They treat you like family. I’m telling the honest truth. They don’t just put on a happy face to get the sales. They love each other and they love their customers and it shows.

I always stop there on my way home from the doctor. It’s my treat to myself after they take blood out of me or any of the endless reasons I go there. (when get old, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

I’m at the doctor right now. You know...

First time patron. Had my granddaughter visiting and wanted a special treat for breakfast so we needed some apple fritters. Warmly welcomed upon entry by friendly pleasant staff. The store is noticably clean and free of any unpleasant sights or smells. We made contact with Terry who was a customer service Rockstar, Terry made my granddaughter feel like the center of the universe. Shortly afterwards we made contact with Robert, Terry's husband, who is the baker. Terry and Robert are locals who recently acquired Young Donuts. They have an obvious pride in their business and it's products. The selection of baked goods was rather impressive. The donuts are eye catching. All flavors, shapes and sizes are available, portion control seems to be non-existent. The donuts appeared to be noticeably fluffier, airier and pleasingly plump. We bought out all of their available apple fritters, 3 large and 2 small ones. Our total cost out the door was under $10 and unlike most fritters with limited apple content, ours were loaded with fruit, further enhancing our experience. We were pleasantly surprised by the entire experience and will be definitely returning again and again. It's a no brainier, I'd highly recommend visiting Young Donuts.

🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲Young Donuts proudly offers a military discount, which is always appreciated....
