Tulsa’s Birria Taco Dominator, expands its empire with the bright, new 918 Maples Tacos & Cantina. 918 Maples is Tulsa’s “Best of the Best,” for Birria Tacos. No others come close. (Check Spike S. 09/1722 review for 918 Maples Cafè & Catering on Yelp.) Fast, friendly, attentive table service greets you for your drink order, and delivers the chips and salsa. Salsa is important. Immediately noticed was that the salsa was different from the beloved roasted jalapeno salsa served at the 21st St. restaurant. There is a creamy habanero (by request) for heat, that is good. Their menu is an abbreviated cantina offering with a satisfying range of everything Mexican you could possibly want to accompany your cold libations. I already knew that they make the best birria tacos in Tulsa so, for me a sampling of their other menu items was necessary. The Mexican Sampler to be exact. My wife went for a Chicken Taco Bowl. A large bowl filled with rice, refried beans, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream and a large helping of chopped grilled chicken. After the first bite of the grilled chicken my wife said “you gotta taste this.” Yes, it is good. Try the taco bowls. My sampler was average except for the empanadas. The sampler plate comes with flautas, quesadilla, queso, guacamole, pico de gallo, and the empanadas. The empanadas, one beef and one chicken, were excellent; the beef empanada was fabulous! The crispy, flakey little fried pie is filled with the same flavorful, delicious shredded beef as they use in the birria tacos. It was the best item on the sampler plate and is recommended for your appetizer. Grab a chair. Start with a michelada and an empanada. If you still have room then finish up with a birria taco plate. That’s “What to eat” at 918 Maples Tacos and Cantina. We researched places to eat in Tulsa for our Easter weekend trip, and this place came recommended. I ordered street chicken tacos like what I'm used to back home in Memphis, TN (via Tacosnganas) & these were nothing like it! They were on the smallest tortillas and it was chopped chicken. I refused to eat it and sent it back. The manager saw that I was the only one not eating at the table & asked what was wrong. I showed her a picture of what I thought I was going to get & she said they don't make it birria style, did I want something else on the menu. I declined. She came back with our check & told me that she wanted my first experience with 918 Maples Tacos & Cantina to be a good one and LITERALLY had the chef make me 4 specialty birria style shredded chicken tacos...on the house!! She said if I liked them, when/if I come back, they'll make them like that for me again! Talk about EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! She doesn't even know how special that made me feel! I truly appreciate this business for how they value their customers and for going above and beyond!!! P.S. the chicken tacos were banging y'all..10 out of 10🤌🏽🤤 Definitely coming back & I highly recommend🥰

This is a fun place with amazing food and margaritas! It's very small and in the summer can be pretty warm inside. Our first visit was nice, the staff was super friendly and attentive. I think it only took 10 mins or less for our food to be served once we ordered. The second time we went it took almost an hour for our food to be served. They got backed up with to-go orders so it just took a lot longer. That made it harder for the staff to be attentive as well with people coming in to order to go being helped before our drinks were served and things like that. The food was still amazing and I ended up trying 2 different margaritas while we waited. I love their chips and salsa, they're thick so you're aware you're eating 20 tortillas 😅 but they're delicious! Both times we went we ordered the same meals and they were prepared slightly differently but still good. I got the chicken flautas with beans and rice and hubby got chicken chilaquiles. I tried the pink lemonade and the coconut margaritas, coconut was my favorite. It's so good! Hubby got the pineapple and it was delicious too. All in all, it was a good experience and we will be going back.

I found this AMAZING place while looking for somewhere to go to celebrate my birthday this year... And maaaaaan oh man!!!! We were NOT DISAPPOINTED! The food was absolutely AMAZING! Everything we ordered was on point and seasoned to pure perfection 🤌🏾. We started off with one of the queso dips (can't remember the name but it was served sizzling hot with chorizo and pico de gallo), the tortilla chips were nice and thick, and the salsa was good as well. The birria tacos my daughter ordered were the best we have ever had (I had to get a taste of course🤭 then ordered some to go because they were sooooo good!), the meat was tender beyond belief, and the consume was good enough to drink and even put over the mexican rice. Let me talk about the rice, goodnessgreshus I have never had mexican rice so good and I have eaten my share, this was the best hands down. I ordered their chicken flautas which were the best I have ever had! The chick was tender and well seasoned , the flautas were cooked to crispy perfection and served with guac, sour cream, and pico. I got double rice instead of rice and beans and was not sad about it. Though both of my daughters said that their refried beans were good. My oldest and her girlfriend ordered steak fajita nachos and they dang near cleaned their plate they said they were so good. And my mom and sister said the same thing about the chicken fajita nachos as well. I had one of their coco loco drinks which was sooooo good and mixed just right. The pricing was good especially considering the portions that were served. The space is SMAAAALLLL though 😖. It would be wonderful to have them at bigger restaurant, but even if they don't have that myself and my family will still be returning in the future. This will be my place for ALL things Mexican because their food was just THAT good! But if your not convinced by now ... Go try it for yourself and let me know...

Walked in was not Greeted stood about 13 min before being asked carry out or seat after 3 workers continued to walk past me as if I was Casper the friendly ghost! I started to leave after standing there so long like I was invisible. Finally A lady comes clean table off then say oh I promised a couple at the bar this table. After deciding to stay and sit! Another 15 min past nobody came to my table to take my order. Finally As I was bout to get up lady Came over to take Order. Food was so not worth the wait or being mistreated by staff. I was o hungry And wanted to try since being told good things but I will never ever go back! Obviously people Who are of my color must not be welcomed here! How this visit made me feel . Every customer that entered after me was greeted on spot with a warm welcome and taken care of in an appropriate time! Of course they didn’t look like me. I had to ask my them to come check me out! Was not offered a to go box, refill, etc even though I wasn’t gonna take the food with me! Total waste of time and money! Telling everyone about this horrific experience! Do better, treat every customer equally! Thanks for making it clear my money or business was/ is not welcomed or appreciated in this...
