In June 2023, my home received damage from the storms that rolled across Tulsa. I saw several commercials regarding different roofing contractors and decided upon T-Town Roofing. On July 12, 2023, Brandon from T-Town Roofing came to my house and conducted an inspection of my home. I had an adjuster scheduled to come to my house on July 29, 2023, to review my roof. Brandon was informed of this date and stated that he would be here for this inspection, however, I had to call and remind him as he forgot. There is a dispute regarding what the insurance company inspector stated and what T-Town Roofing sees. After the inspection, I never heard from Brandon and made several calls and text messages to him about the status of my roof. I was always told the same thing, “I have reached out to the adjuster but never heard anything back. I will try again”. On September 1, 2023, I contacted T-Town Roofing directly at their business number and spoke with Krystyna Sanchez (office manager). I stressed my frustration to her, and it was explained that Brandon had been relieved of his job with T-Town and that the clients he had were being picked up by Mark Hanks. I was also told that Adriene, owner of T-Town, was about to board a plane but would be calling me shortly (as of October 21, 2023, I still have never heard from Adriene). On September 11, 2023, I once again had to text Krystyna Sanchez and explain to her that Mark Hanks had not done anything. On September 26, 2023, I still have not heard anything. At this point I found out that-Town did not have certain documents uploaded into their system. Apparently, Brandon nor Mark Hank uploaded them, so I sent them directly to Krystyna Sanchez. On this same day, I texted Mark Hank and told him that I had sent the documents to Krystyna Sanchez and Mark said thank you and that he would contact my insurance company to discuss the difference of opinion with them. On this day, Mark said “You have my word” about keeping me up to date with what was going on. Mark did contact me on September 27, 2023, stating he resubmitted everything to my insurance company. I thank him for this. On September 29, 2023, I was contacted to see if I had “Ordinance & Law” on my policy. I found out that I do and notified Mark via text message (with a picture) that I do have “Ordinance & Law” on my policy. He explained that this may be the final justification they needed. I never heard anything after that and on October 9, 2023, I sent Mark a picture that I had lost a few more shingles to my roof. I sent a picture showing a shingle stuck in one of my trees. Mark Hank once again said that he would call and follow up with my insurance company. Being frustrated with hearing the same thing over and over, on October 20, 2023, I decided to contact my insurance company to find out why they are not responding to T-Town Roofing. Edna Martinez (from State Farm) explained to me that on September 28, 2023, they sent a message (I do not know how – email? Fax?) stating the process and how T-Town Roofing needed to send in documentation like photos of the disagreement and a quote to repair the roof correctly. According to State Farm, as of October 20, 2023, State Farm has not received anything from T-Town Roofing. My case had so little movement that my insurance company actually closed my file. Thank Goodness that after my explanation and communication I was able to reopen my insurance claim file. I am very disappointed with T-Town Roofing and its employees and can not suggest them to anyone for roofing...
Read moreThis was the worst customer service experience of my entire life. Details below.
The roofing crew was amazing when they finally showed up. No one spoke English, but they did a fantastic job, they made sure every nail was out of the driveway, they even spray painted all the vents on the roof to match the shingles, which was a nice touch. But the customer service was so horrible I could never recommend these guys.
The sales person initially seemed like a really great guy. He showed up when the insurance inspector did, climbed up on the roof and helped the inspector find all the damage. Later, problems started. First, the contract was wrong and had to be re-written. Then he tried to bill us for the tarping that another contractor did. Then what should have been a ten minute session so we could write a check ended up being a two hour argument with the salesperson because he couldn't seem to understand fourth grade math and he wanted a check for 90% up front.
We finally agreed on an amount and were told that because our roof was leaking we would be a priority and would get on the schedule in the next week to ten days. We kept contacting the sales person and scheduling manager and kept being delayed. Finally, six weeks after they'd cashed our check I called the main office instead of the people we'd been speaking with and said that if I didn't get a scheduled date immediately I would be filing a complaint with the BBB that night. I was put in touch with the owner who apologized, told me the sales rep was no longer with the company, and promised we would have the work done that week. It was done. The scheduling manager made an appointment to stop by the next day for a final inspection. He never showed up and did not call. Two weeks passed and we neither heard anything or got a certificate of completion for our insurance company. Late on a Friday evening (after 7:30 pm) he called and asked if he could drop by Saturday to do the final inspection. He didn't apologize or make an excuse for his skipping the earlier appointment. I told him I wouldn't be making an appointment with him and I wanted to talk to the owner. He agreed.
When I hadn't heard from the owner by Monday I called and left a voicemail. I didn't hear anything for two more days and called the main office again. I got an apology and a call back from the owner this time, but I'm still waiting for the certificate.
If you are the type of person who doesn't mind calling to nag and threaten with lawsuits and/or the BBB constantly, you can get a great roof from these guys. But I doubt I'll ever...
Read moreEdit: Responding to the owner. No, this was not a result of wind damage. All the shingles that were falling off the roof were in the same section of the roof and none of the neighboring shingles showed signs of curling or any indication of wind damage. The shingles were not installed properly, plain and simple.
About 4 years ago I had T Town Roofing replace our roof. A couple months ago some neighbors were having new roofing installed, one of the roofing companies noticed that my roof was missing a couple shingles. They asked me if I would mind if they did a free inspection to assess the damage, so I agreed. These are the pictures from their drone. We had 4 missing ridge caps in total. In one spot I was missing 3 consecutively and had the weatherproof membrane completely exposed. I had one strip of shingles missing entirely, and two adjacent ones barely hanging on. And they didn't cut the shingles with pointy edges pressing into our gutter. I called T Town a week ago, they said their installation quality warranty is only good for 3 years, so they charged me $800 to come out and fix their issues. They admitted that their installer probably was using their pneumatic nailer too far from the compressor, so the nails weren't going in all the way. All of these shingles and problems were on the same side of the house, which means likely more shingles will be coming down on that side. They patched our roof yesterday, and while they were there noticed a couple other places where the nails were coming loose. They replaced those shingles too. I said "This is supposed to be a 15 year roof that's coming apart after 4 years because your installers didn't do their job." They offered to fix any other problems for free for the next 3 months from yesterday. It's not nothing, but pretty close to nothing. So now we just have to continuously inspect our roof for the next 11 years or so and look for more falling shingles and bare spots and then pay out of pocket again to fix the original...
