If you're looking for an exceptional coffee shop experience, I would advise looking elsewhere. We chose to try Coffee Shop on Cherry Street based on Google reviews indicating they serve beautiful, quality lattes. Many of the photos and reviews indicated that their latte art was incredible and their drinks and food were delicious. We greatly appreciate latte art on a good latte and Google reviews had us expecting this and more.
Upon arrival, the store had a handful of other patrons in the shop. No one in line, so we walked right up to the counter. It took several minutes to be greeted or helped. The cashier was polite once she finally greeted us and this was the most pleasant part of the experience.
We ordered two small Sasquatch Lattes in mugs as we wished to sit and appreciate a beautiful latte. When our order was served, they had served our drinks in to go cups. I mentioned that we had ordered our drinks in mugs and the barista rudely told us they were out of small mugs. They didn't communicate this until after they served us and they did so rudely. We decided to open the lids to maybe get a glimpse of a beautiful latte (we have been to other coffee shops that still made beautiful lattes in to go cups) and were disappointed to find our "lattes" were just a slopped together mess of espresso and milk that wasn't even frothed. They tasted worse than they looked and lacked the propper qualities to even be considered a latte.
At this point we felt completely disappointed. The greeting and service took a while so we didn't feel welcomed from the start. Our drinks were served in to go cups and it wasn't properly communicated that they were out of mugs until after our drinks were made. The barista was rude when I made mention of the error and offered no solution, further making us feel unwelcome. Finally, our drinks were a far cry from being a latte and were subpar at best. The service and the coffee is severely lacking at this establishment. We immediately decided to return the coffees and leave in search of what we hoped to receive here.
We found ourselves at Foolish Things Coffee Company where we were given excellent, warm, welcoming, above and beyond service as well as two of the most beautiful, deliciously perfect lattes we have ever had.
We are honestly thankful for our terrible experience at Coffee Shop on Cherry Street as it lead to us trying Foolish Things Coffee Company. We can say we've crossed Coffee Shop on Cherry Street off our list and won't be returning.
Don't waste your time here, there are so many other good coffee shops in town.
As for the management and employees seeing this, I hope you take pride in your work going forward. I hope you welcome your guests happily and promptly. I hope you learn to communicate and solve problems. I hope your baristas embrace the art of being a barista and learn to master their craft. Tulsa deserves...

I walked in excited to try the key lime pie and was taken aback by an unexpected charge of almost $0.50 for a to-go box per dessert, with no prior notice or visible disclaimer. When I inquired about this rather absurd surcharge, they removed one fee and combined both desserts (key lime pie + chocolate espresso torte) into a single box. However, one of the desserts was carelessly placed inside, arriving in a less-than-presentable state.
Coming from out of town, I was excited to return to this coffee shop, a place I had enjoyed on several previous dine-in visits. The ambiance had always been charming, and I had looked forward to trying the pie. I was left with a bitter aftertaste—not from the chai, but from the questionable business ethics on display.
From a business standpoint and a matter of principles, it is highly questionable. Customers should not be burdened with inflated packaging costs, especially when buying in bulk would amount to mere cents per box. If a business chooses to impose such a fee, it should, at the very least, ensure the packaging is adequate for transport, protecting the integrity of the purchased items.
By the way, this was a cheap plastic box—not a special or premium container, nor was I purchasing anything out of the ordinary. Charging customers extra for something so basic, without warning, and then failing to ensure the packaging does its job, is simply poor business practice.
Exceptional customer service should extend not only to those dining in but also to those who wish to enjoy their purchase elsewhere. Transparent pricing and proper packaging are fundamental to a quality customer experience—sadly, this establishment fell...
Read moreAs I read the other reviews I’m not surprised to see “rude staff”. I am so disappointed and shocked with my experience as short as it was... Yesterday, was my VERY FIRST TIME at the coffee shop on cherry st. I walk in, I stand and try to decide what I want, a guy walks up next to the cashier & helps me decide, which was nice ALTHOUGH, when the cashier told me my total, (keeping in mind I was buying 2 coffees and did not expect them to be so expensive) I TOLD the cashier that I would have to run to my car to get more money, as I’m walking out the guy that helped me decide what I wanted YELLS “Is she leaving?!?!”, so I turn around (halfway out the door) and say “no I just need to run to my car and get some more money..” he replies “then next time, you need to let us know!!” In the rudest tone ever, AND after I just told the cashier what I was doing!!!!!!!!! (Like what the heck I did tell you!!) SO, as me and my friend are going out to go to my car, me friend hears the guy say “can you believe that?” to the cashier!
At this point I am SHOOK from my first impression of this coffee shop, and I’m completely HUMILIATED as he yells at me in front of the whole store, making it out like I’m broke or a walk out, because of this guy I did not return to buy coffee, but looking at reviews I’m glad I didn’t by the looks of it their foods “rotten” sometimes, and there coffee is...
