STEER AWAY FROM FIFTEENTH AND HOME FOR HONESTY, GREAT HIGH-END PIECES, AND THE INFAMOUS SO-CALLED "WHITE GLOVE" EXPERIENCE! Was led to believe this store would change my perception of buying furniture after a horrid experience with Mathis Bros... NOPE!! WRONG!! The point when the self tapping, steel screws began poking through the armrests was enough for me to require a refund... So I returned this recliner, before the screws could injure me. The only palpable difference between Mathis and Fifteenth is the price. Fifteenth and Home is exponentially MORE EXPENSIVE than Mathis, but the quality isn't much better. I ordered my $5200.00(+) all white, leather single seat, American Leather recliner, then waited 4 months for it's arrival and slowly began to see first-hand just how deceitful the people are who make and distribute expensive as hell, craptastic "furniture" as I found at FIFTEENTH AND HOME! AND.... For the return of this recliner, FIFTEENTH AND HOME felt it was the best method of retrieval to send 2 completely oily and greasy muppets who appeared to have just crawled out of a 55 gallon drum bath full of oil and grease... TO RETRIEVE A $5200 WHITE LEATHER RECLINER! NO GLOVES! NO PROTECTIVE WRAP! And it was taken away in an open bed pickup truck worth less than $1500!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! STEER AWAY FROM THIS MIGHTMARE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU DON'T WANT...
Read moreI walked into this establishment a few years ago with my wife & 2 of our friends. We were spending time on Cherry Street and wanted to check out some of the local shops, and we thought it would be fun to look around at the furniture. We were in our mid 20’s and newly married, and didn’t have a lot of extra money to spend.
This was during regular operating hours, and the lady working there (pretty sure it was the owner) was meeting with some other customers. After a couple of minutes, she approached us. She was clearly annoyed, and asked us what we needed. We said we were just looking around, and she stood there silently watching us, same annoyed look on her face. This made it uncomfortable, so we decided to leave.
Fast forward a few years to today. My wife & I have renovated a historic home, and we have the funds to buy this entire store. The memory of the rude encounter has not faded for any of the 4 of us. We will gladly spend our money elsewhere. Thanks to the rise of the importance of Google reviews, we get to share our story. I hope it is a lesson for this business going forward. You never know what kind of position people are in or might be in when the future comes, so it is probably a good idea to treat everyone with respect. I’m leaving a 2 star review because I don’t want to ruin...
Read moreI recently tried to visit 15th and home, arriving a little early before opening. I parked in the designated store parking, fully intending to shop once they opened. However, I was approached by an older gentleman who aggressively confronted me about parking there, not even giving me the chance to explain that I was a customer. Feeling unwelcome, I decided to leave without even stepping inside.
First impressions matter, and unfortunately, this encounter left a bad taste in my mouth. I was excited to explore what the store had to offer because I am trying to furnish a whole house after we just finished our renovation, but the way I was treated made me reconsider. I hope the store addresses how their parking policy and interactions with potential customers are handled...
