I recently visited Sidecar, and let me tell you, if you haven’t had the chance to be served by Mattie, you are truly missing out. From the moment I stepped up to the bar, Mattie’s warm and genuine energy made me feel right at home. It’s rare to find a bartender who not only excels at their craft but also creates such an inviting atmosphere where you feel like you’re more than just a customer. Mattie has that perfect balance of professionalism and approachability, making everyone who sits at their bar feel like they’re in good hands.

What really sets Mattie apart is their ability to read the room and engage with every guest, no matter how busy the bar gets. I mentioned a few general preferences for drinks, and instead of simply offering the most popular options, Mattie took the time to ask more specific questions and actually crafted cocktails based on my tastes. Each drink they made was a masterpiece—beautifully balanced, creative, and expertly crafted. You can tell that Mattie has a deep passion for mixology, and it shines through in every drink they make. From classic cocktails to unique, off-the-menu concoctions, everything was spot on.

Aside from the technical skill, what made the night truly special was the level of care Mattie put into every interaction. Whether it was explaining the ingredients and process behind each drink, sharing a laugh, or simply checking in to make sure everything was perfect, Mattie’s attention to detail was unmatched. Even when the bar was packed, they handled the crowd with such ease, never letting anyone feel rushed or overlooked. Mattie has that rare ability to make each guest feel like they’re the only person in the room, which speaks volumes about their dedication to the craft and their customers.

Beyond the drinks and service, Mattie helped foster an overall great vibe at Sidecar. The bar itself has a cool, laid-back atmosphere, but Mattie’s personality elevates the experience to a whole new level. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely fun to be around. I can’t say enough good things about my time at Sidecar, and Mattie was a huge part of that. If you're in the area, make it a point to sit at Mattie’s bar, and let them work their magic. You won’t be disappointed.

All in all, Mattie is a true gem at Sidecar. Their skill behind the bar, combined with their warm and inviting demeanor, make them one of the best bartenders I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Sidecar on cherry street is genuinely the worst bar I’ve ever been to. First of all, servers were doing side jobs when we arrived and did not stop. My friend asked if we had to order at the bar after so long, but we did not, they quickly got our drinks which I appreciate, but waiting ten minutes and having to approach the server vs the other way around is kind of insane for what seems like a nice establishment. My biggest problem was the bartender known as Collin behind the bar. Blonde Caucasian young guy wearing sunglasses inside for some reason. Accidentally walked behind the bar when the ropes were down and unnoticeable with my friend, Collin decided to handle the situation by acting like a child, yelling and belittle us for doing so. Yes, we clearly made a mistake, but to be so condescending and inappropriate towards us immediately was completely unnecessary and unacceptable. Talking to us respectfully would’ve derailed this entire situation. We decided to grab our tab and leave immediately after that unbelievably disrespectful encounter and two lovely customers at the bar felt compelled to tell us how they can’t believe he talked to us like that either and they said we should get comped for that because of how ridiculous it was. I’m not a “Karen” ever, my friend and I are honestly pretty shy and genuinely try to never cause any issues. We’re respectful as much as we can be. To come at us so aggressively and embarrass us publicly by yelling at us like we were intentionally trying to break the rules for a simple mistake is absolutely unprofessional, unwarranted, and should not be tolerated. Collin is a terrible employee and I say that as someone who has worked in customer service for years. I would never talk to a guest the way he did to us. Hiring employees like Collin will be the downfall of sidecar. His job is quite literally to provide great service and it seems like that’s not possible for him. The jenks location is great, cherry street has the worst service. I am done with sidecar. So dissatisfied, disappointed, and frustrated. Collin, if you see this, good. 0...

Well, I went back and talked with Alex, the General Manager and had a very productive conversation about the issues I encountered. He was and is a very dedicated Manager that truly wants to give great customer service. The only thing I can say negative about this is my favorite server wasn't there that night, Micah is fantastic!!! I'll be back to check it out on my next trip to Tulsa. Alex, thank you for having the fortitude to have a conversation to rectify the issues. I'll see you guys soon. With a 5 star rating!!!

This is by far one of the worst experiences of service I've ever encountered. I wasn't greeted when I walked in, I thought maybe I had come in the wrong entrance. I walked to the bar and had the bar staff just looking around as if I weren't there. I finally spoke to a Bartender and he barely spoke back. This is a beautiful setting, for a place of this caliber to have uninviting bar staff is confusing and disappointing. The live music was great once I went outside and enjoyed the nice evening. Micah, however was a real treat, she had a great personality and acted as if she was glad to be there, hopefully she will rub off on the other bar staff. One last thing, as I was sitting there one of the bar staff blew his nose while standing behind the bar around the mixes and open containers of drink condiments. As far as I could tell he never washed his hands, very off-putting!!! Sorry to be so blunt but unless people speak up you may not know. Hopefully things will change for the better.
