I was in downtown Tustin and decided to have lunch here. Was a bit apprehensive due to the name and expected a menu like Chili's or Applebee's but it wasn't. They had quite a few items on the menu, salads, burgers, sandwiches, and a few speciality dishes and sides. Most of the items were a la carte. I ordered the Guilty Burger, Cajun Tots, Fried Green Beans,Sweet Potato Fries, and AG Potato Salad (pictured). My partner ordered a chicken wrap, the fries were hers. Both fries and tots were served with Ranch dressing but the Green Beans were served with a jalapeno ranch which was awesome. I ordered a beer, Pizza Port Brewing Red, very good but be aware the sizes are 14oz and 24oz sizes. This is in plain print on the menu so don't get upset that it's not a regular pint, you have been informed. The beer was great I did enjoy it but the food was even better. The Cajun Tots were crunchy and flavorful, not over cooked. The fried green beans and jalapeno dipping sauce were perfectly paired. I'm not a fan of Sweet Potato Fries but they were tasty. The burger was very tasty and filling. This one had a fried egg in it and most places that I have ordered one similar, the egg creates a big mess, but not here. It still had a nice liquid like yolk but the brioche bun soaked it up nicely. This made it more enjoyable to eat. The bacon was crispy and the pepper jack cheese and swiss gave it a very nice flavor. They provide you with a little cup of potato salad, which was different than what you'd expect. It was more like a loaded baked potato but cold, I know you might think ewe, but trust me if you like potato salad you'll really enjoy this. I left the restaurant stuffed. Food was, in my opinion, very much worth the price. I wish I could ding this place on something but I can't. The service was great. This is how restaurants should treat customers. Our server was Abe and he did a wonderful job, I couldn't have asked for better treatment. He was prompt and attentive always available. All around great service from all the staff. This place has indoor and outdoor seating. They welcome customers with pets, but you need to be seated outside if you bring your pet, once again this is written on a sign clearly visible on the door. All in all it was a great experience and I can't wait to...
Read moreIt was a weird experience... The waiter we had on 6/20/24 between 5-6pm was unenthusiastic and seemed like she didn't Wana help the only Brown people in the building at that time (us). Yes, I felt singled out because she greeted other white folk tables with a "Hi! How are you?" Etc, where we got "do you want more than just water or No?" I got none of the same hospitality I witnessed other folks did. The food: it's mediocre. I was hungry and the burger satisfied that, but I've had way better burgers at places like Hop Doddy (also in Tustin). The Alberto is not spicy at all and the mushroom burger barely has any mushrooms.🤷🏽♀️ The price: way overpriced. We got one order of fried green beans as an appetizer, a burger each (the burgers come alone no fries or side) and one beer each and it was over a hundred. NOT WORTH IT.
While we were there, a staff member Yelled at an elder group of 4 for walking in telling them: "THERE'S A WAITING LIST, YOU CAN'T COME IN," which shook the small dining room. She should have handled that more gracefully.
Their guy food runner working that day/time was very nice and kudos to him for being the only other decent human I encountered there that day.
TLDR: Go to Hop Doddy instead for waaay better...
Read moreWow! What a yummy place to celebrate a birthday! I was going out of my comfort zone and wanted to try a new place. It also was my birthday dinner with my little family. All three of us LOVED it! I had the Antonio burger, hubba had the French dip, and Ruby had the kids sliders. We all shared the garlic fries, and all three of us were satisfied! Ate it all! The service was awesome. We did go at the 5 O'clock hour, and we're immediately seated. We read that this place gets busy during high volume times so we wanted to avoid the crowd. We are glad we did because by the time we left it was filling up! Great energy there, great choices of Brews. Its a simple menu with lots of flavor action going on. Very affordable as well. Great for lunch or dinner. Nestled in the cutest place ever of old Town Tustin. Right next door to a bar incase you are thirsty! Oh and at the end of our meal they surprised me with a decadent brownie topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for my birthday! I would shout out the servers names, but I cannot remember for the life of me! I'm sure if you read this you both will know! They were very personable and attentative. Thank you for a lovely and yummy birthday dinner American Grub! You guy's have...
