Well, all I can say is a family restaurant that makes its customers feel like family. This was my first time in. I was surprised by two things, the service and experience and the quality of the food.
These days when you go into an establishment, you never know what you are going to get. Alex was very friendly and took the time to explain things to me as I had questions, even though the line behind me was stacking up. Alex did not rush me. Service with a smile is cliche, but Alex and who I believe to be his brother were all smiles.
I ordered the Asada burrito and a cup of jugo de naranja (OJ). I asked for some spicy salsa as well. Let me tell you, I am picky about my asada, but this asada was juicy and tender. Not chewy and fatty like you get at some places. The burrito was piping hot, eggs, were fresh, cheeses was gooey, the papas inside the burritos were tasty and not bland. Most importantly for me is that the ingredients in the burrito were even proportioned out so that I was able to have a bite of egg, asada, papas, and cheeses in every single bite. I did not have a situation where after three bites all the meat is gone and you are only left with eggs and papas. Bring it all together with the asada and spicy salsa made for an explosion of an experience as you take those bites. I liked the salsa so much that I asked if it was for sale and sure enough, I was able to buy a glass bottle of the spicy salsa. I might mention the other salsa that comes with the burrito is tasty, but I need some more kick to my salsas.
Real deal over here. I will be back to this Michoacan inspired and infused restaurant. Highly recommend for anyone in Tustin and the surrounding area.

Read moreCute hole in the wall cafe. I'm glad we got here early, but as you know, early bird gets the worm. We got here at 9:30 am on a Sunday. A lot of the reviews I read about this place is that they don't have pricing listed anywhere, soooo I was able to snap a pic of their menu with pricing. 😁 I don't think pricing is unreasonable, good portions and really tasty. I ordered the Dirty horchata ( homemade horchata with a shot of espresso) soooooo good. They are known for their chilaquiles but lately I've had a lot of so I opted for their huevo con chorizo ( I just asked for the chorizo to be well done) I usually have to add salt because most places miss the "sazon" but I didn't need to do so here. Unfortunately I didn't snap a pic of my food because I immediately dug into it haha but trust me, it was delicious. My only feedback...while the staff is extremely nice and polite , I would recommend that this place should at least provide a 75 min or 90min dine in time. Put up a sign or something (A lot of places do so and it's okay) My friend and I are both 8 months pregnant and we were only there for like an hour before they asked us to leave so they could seat other people. We were still finishing up our drinks when they asked us to leave, politely, but still we were kicked out. Haha. We purposely got there early to enjoy our breakfast and time together, so it kind of hit a nerve to be asked to leave so quickly to seat others that decided to get there at a busier time...🤷🏻♀️
Besides that minor hiccup, I will be going back to try some more food and get my Dirty...
Read moreWow! Their "DIRTY HORCHATA" blew my mind!! I just had to say this first!
Customer service: I ordered on the phone, it was fast and easy. They didn't put me on hold, took my order with ease and that's it. Sometimes phone orders can be a nightmare but not here!
Food: The food was good! I got a breakfast burrito and it was decent. I wish it had more ingredients other than eggs, potatoes and cheese. Sure, beans and rice come on the side but I like different items in my burrito if I have burrito intentions. My family enjoyed their meal, "Huevos a la Mexicana" and "chilaquilles rojos" .The chillaquilles were not spicy and had great flavor (although we prefer spicy) and the huevos a la Mexicana are tomatoey and delicious.
Drinks: I got the dirty horchata and it was divine! I'm a coffee connoisseur and I really enjoyed this horchata with a shot of expresso. It was creamy, not too sweet and light. My sister got "cafe de olla" and she mentioned it was a bit on the sweet side but then again we like bold, strong coffee so that might be up to preference of how sweet you like coffee. My other sister got the "vanilla cappuccino" and she LOVES it! Not too sweet and just the right amount of vanilla. I tasted all of these and I liked them all! Sure, I agree with my sister the cafe de olla was sweeter than I'd like, but it had a good, rustic, bold flavor and you can smell the canela (cinnamon) which is what I love about a good cafe de olla.
This was our first time eating from this cafe and we will for sure try other items...
