Poke Tiki is a solid poke place - one of my favs in Tustin!
Come in and you'll start pretty quickly through the line. They have options for a small / medium / large bowl. Bases include salad, white and brown rice and I believe they have chips as well. From there you get to choose your protein which they have a fair amount of diverse options including the standards (tuna/salmon/shrimp) to some unique ones like spicy salmon. They have ponzu/sesame oil as well as some unique sauces like their Volcano (levels 1 - 3 in spiciness) as well as a spicy mayo and wasabi sauce. Then you'll be able to add all the condiments like crab meat, cucumbers, and the seaweed salad as well as the dry toppings like furikake and sesame seeds. They do have avocado for an extra additional price (like about a $1ish). Overall, for a medium bowl with the avocado, it's about $12+ which I think is pretty standard and not too bad for a poke place.
Overall, I think the fish is pretty fresh and yummy. The sauces aren't blowout unique sauces but are flavorful and solid overall. You can always ask for more and on the side too.
Service has been friendly too. When they're busy, I totally understand the service isn't as nice as on a slower night but when it's slower, the servers are usually friendly with quick chit chats. They are also efficient and usually get your order done pretty quickly.
They have a self-serve water station with like cucumbers in it to give it a nice crisp taste. They also have some unique bottled drinks in the back. They also have a rewards program and a text for receipt option that I appreciate.
Seating is not too bad. Tables/stool seating are both available usually when I get there with the busiest times being lunch times on weekdays. Personally the theme is a little funky to me (tiki themed) for a poke place,...
Read moreThis place is great for the area and for the actual quality of the bowls and toppings they have. The only problem is that employees aren’t very good at managing the in person line and the online orders. I spent about 30 min today waiting as the two girls handling the orders were prioritizing the online orders and they also had someone in line who was clearly not ready to order so when they started with her, it took 20 min to get thru 4 bowls. One of the girls who was putting in rice/protein was trying to help with toppings and the other lady with 5 bowls was on the phone trying to figure out her orders and the other employee told her no. So there were 3-4 bowls with just rice/protein sitting there and it was causing a hold up. I understand that there may be a “process” for how things normally go but it doesn’t make any sense to have the line held up and bowls just sitting there waiting on toppings. About 3 ppl left and there was a line of about 10 ppl in line when I finally left with my bowl. I will stop coming back if this place can’t get it together . This isn’t the first time I have had to wait bc they seem to be inefficient. So just keep that in mind when...
Read moreI came here for lunch. It was slightly busy because of the lunch rush hour, but the service was fast. They give you a pretty generous helping considering the price ($9) for a regular bowl. I got tuna, salmon, and albacore for my fish, and would say they were good. Albacore wasn't as great as the tuna and salmon, but still good. Definitely one of the cheaper poke places I've been to and was well worth the money.
One nice thing I noticed about this place is that they will add sauce to the fish, but at the end, they will give you a take-out sauce pan for extra sauce if you want with no extra charge. This was wonderful because I got to control the amount of sauce I wanted for my bowl. They also have more toppings than other places, which I definitely took advantage of. Would say their avocado is not the greatest quality though.
The store is rather small and there are not too many tables to sit and eat, so wouldn't recommend coming here with a...
