This past weekend, we missed our usual visit to the farmers market to pick up our favorite sourdough bread. Looking for an alternative, we came across a hidden gem—Rye Goods, a charming little bakery not far from the old Marine Corps hangars. The shop may be small in size, but it offers an impressive variety of artisanal breads and baked goods, all at very reasonable prices. From hearty sourdough loaves to sweet pastries and savory treats, there’s something for everyone.
Rye Goods also features a spacious and welcoming seating area, making it an ideal place to slow down and enjoy a coffee paired with a fresh pastry. Whether you’re in the mood for a relaxing brunch, a light lunch, or just need to grab something on the go, the shop provides a cozy and convenient atmosphere. The quality of the products and the thoughtful setup of the space make it clear that this bakery is more than just a place to buy bread—it’s a community spot worth returning to. Discovering Rye Goods turned what could have been a disappointing bread-less weekend into a delightful new experience, and it’s definitely a place we’ll be...
Read moreOverpriced and not worth it. I went to the Tustin location this afternoon and ordered 4 cookies, 1 scone, 2 bagels and 1 croissant. The total was $35. Initially I thought this was excessive but perhaps the taste and quality were worth it. Unfortunately, that was not the case as the $4 thumbprint cookie was good but at a mere 3 inches in diameter and lackluster taste, it was simply not worth the exorbitant price. I then tried the chocolate ganache coffee croissant, which was dry, tasteless and had a miniscule amount of chocolate. I understand this is an organic bakery that uses less sugar than your typical bakery and I am I by no means comparing it to one. I am however, comparing it to Frogs bakery in Gardena which is also organic and uses less sugar and there is no comparison as Frogs is infinitely better. I haven't tried the bagels or scone yet, but I hope they're so good it takes away that feeling that I got overcharged....by a lot. Update- The scone had a wierd aftertaste and the texture was more like a dense pound cake. The...
Read moreLove the atmosphere, nice and open with plenty of sunlight. Friendly staff. Clean restrooms. The couches are stained and had multiple flakes of pastries . . . Could use a shampoo. I got a hot latte with oat milk that was delicious. I really looovved the coffee cake. It was perfectly balanced, not too sweet but sweet enough. The breakfast burrito was good but nothing special. The salsa was too sweet for me but at least had a kick of heat. My husband and I also sampled the croissant, chocolate coffee pastry, and the poptart which were all disappointing. Not terrible but lack luster in flavor. The poptart filling was somewhat bitter and did not complement the exterior frosting. The butter croissant tasted like whole wheat and too much of a sourdough taste, outside flaky but inside was dense not airy like it should be. Based on the ambiance, latte, coffee cake, and breakfast burrito I would return. It’s...
