La Casita Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Twin Lakes

Came in for the first time (my sister and dad had been here 1 time prior), only one table of people in the restaurant. Had kind of an awkward environment. The chips and salsa were great, you could tell the salsa was homemade. I had ordered 3 taco dinner with ground beef, American style (lettuce and tomato), and came with rice and refried beans. The tacos were good, but dripping with grease (like a stream) from the ground beef. The rice barely had a taste, and the beans were like paste held together with cheese. Our server was a young lady, who was quiet but polite. She checked back often and was very attentive. We had told her in the beginning how we wanted separate checks and she asked at the end if it was together or separate. Then took my dad's leftover food away without asking if he was done with it or wanted a box....so even more awkward. Half the meal I would say was really "authentic"...if that. And without telling us there would be an extra charge for asking for more chips and salsa, found a nice surprise on our checks of $2.25. I probably won't come back...nor would I recommend it. This establishment needs to make some improvements before I would consider...

I was not impressed. I hope they are able to correct their problems or they will never survive as a business. People were leaving before they ever saw a server because it was taking so long (and it was not busy). The service was terrible and extremely slow. We asked several different times for certain items (for our meal) and never even received them. The food was either bitter or had no flavor at all. My wife asked for "to go" boxes and the bus boy brought some to us. He handed us the boxes and then grabbed our plates to clear them... ?? That was kind of comical except for the fact that he stuck his thumb in the enchilada that my wife was going to bring home. There was so much confusion that they never gave anyone a check. People got tired of waiting and had to walk up to the counter to ask for it. We waited approximately 20 minutes for our check after sitting at a cleared table. We finally had to go ask for it and he was filling it out at the counter (asking what we had to eat). I was embarassed for them. A small business in a small town is a challenge in itself. They really need to restructure or they are not going to make it. Sorry to say that I will...

Way over priced for tiny portions of bland food. I was expecting the chicken that goes into any of the items to actually be seasoned line taco chicken meat. It was just square chunks of plain chicken & out was the same on all the items in my combo. Tasted like caved chicken. The place was empty & service was lazy, no take out menus &the web site was down. The kid really didn't want to place the order for me in person but kept directing me to order online. The online ordering was infuriating & unclear on how to operate it. I almost gave up. I had to go back in to ask some questions & then he offered to take my order after I spent 10 min inputting the whole order. I went through xtra steps to add cheese to the tacos & didn't get it on any of the items. 2 xtra tacos was $6 & they were the size of sliders. Chimichanga was only meat & cheese. Spent over $60 for 3 dinners & 2 tacos. Never again. Not only over priced but not great quality food & terrible...
