Prior to my appointment i had done a hair consultation. My goal was to have my hair colored red. I provided pictures of my goal at the consultation. The project consisted of a double process of bleaching my hair and then having the red put on it. I was fine with that. I knew because i had old black dye in my hair from 6 months ago, done at the salon, the end result may not be exactly what i wanted. By that i mean, i wasnt expecting the red to be as vibrant. But i was expecting it to be a dark red. I made it abundantly clear i did not want purple, simply bc my goal wasnt to have maroon hair. Sure enough, i was told in order to darken the red, the stylist put purple in the mixing bowl. But i was reassured it was a small amount and my hair would not be purple. I left the salon not only with out my intended color but purple hair! Granted the stylist offered to re do it the next day. But the damage was done. I made up my mind not to go back because trust had been broken. I said no purple and purple was the end result. Now granted that was 2 weeks ago and not going back was my choosing. I cant blame the salon for my stubbornes. However, that was until today, i just got done with a consultation from another stylist at a different salon. My hair is not only purple but has splotches of pink, maroon, and the ends are brown. There are purple streaks, as if i got purple highlights. All of this, just to find out from the other stylist i reached out to, the red dye could have worked if purple had not been added and a drop of black wouldve been used to darken the red. Now in my opinion the stylist shouldve known that or asked for help while preparing the dye. I cant stress this enough, I went to this PROFESSIONAL establishment and had a consultation done to end up with a mess in which i still had to paid 150 bucks. In which while paying, the only thing the stylist had to say to me "well im sorry this didnt turn out the way you wanted but if you come back tomorrow ill put red all over your hair". To me, that says theres no accountability. Also id like to point out no one checked up on the stylist. This was a big project after all. I have really long hair and it took hours to do. Not one person such as a supervisor or someone with more experience came by to check on us. Even when i was visibly upset during the blow drying phase, no one came by. I feel there was so many opportunities to stop and re evaluate the project inorder for, i the client, not to leave the salon looking like the color purple just threw up all over my hair. I almost feel that it was intentional, even though that thought is illogical. Whats more upsetting is i am a returning client. Ive gone to Rau for three years. I make sure to tip really well and not be a nightmare to work on. Most of the time im really quiet and dont i complain or rush the stylist. I know these ladies work hard. I know this has to be a stressful job. I know things may not come out like a picture. But this salon really broke my trust in them and confidence. If i wasnt seeking professional services, I couldve done this on my own with some box dye. I couldve saved us both the time. Then i wouldnt have to write this very long review. If i could give zero...
Read moreWhere do I even begin? I recently took the leap and decided to transform my long hair into a short cut—a bold decision I had been contemplating for quite some time. Finding the right stylist for such a dramatic change was crucial, and I cannot express how grateful I am to have found Taylor!
From the moment I walked into the salon, I was welcomed with such warmth and genuine interest. Taylor took the time to sit down with me, listen to my ideas, and truly understand not just what I wanted, but why I wanted it. She asked thoughtful questions about my lifestyle, hair routine, and comfort level with short styles. It never felt rushed or like just another appointment—it felt like a collaboration with someone who truly cared.
Now, let’s talk about the transformation: WOW. I went from bust length hair to a chic, fresh, modern short cut that suits me more than I ever imagined. Taylor has an incredible eye for face shapes, hair texture, and personal style. Every snip felt purposeful and confident, and watching the new style come to life in the mirror was honestly emotional. I felt like I was shedding not just hair, but an old version of myself—and stepping into something more confident, polished, and empowered.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Taylor, for helping me feel like the best...
Read moreI went here for the first time today, and just from the three hours I was here today, this salon is my new favorite. This salon is very clean, and everyone is really friendly. I saw the front desk lady constantly go out of her way and open the door for customers, and giving them hand sanitizer. I had Kelsey do a balayage on my hair today and I was nervous going into a new salon but I loved the way it turned out. She did it just how I wanted it to look, and in my opinion better then I expected. They are very covid safe/friendly. Every time I saw a customer get up from a chair or leave etc. the staff cleaned it and wiped it down right away. Overall if I could give this salon over 5 stars I would. I’ll definitely be going back, and definitely be recommending this salon to my...
