Mama's Restaurant — Restaurant in Tyler

Wife and I came for breakfast for first time, this was our experience. As I pulled into parking lot, a customer and his wife or girlfriend came out of Mama's, were standing by their vehicle, passenger side, then he started vomiting a lot. I parked and went inside and was met with a young man, I asked if the food was good here? The young man's reply was "I don't know". I told him I asked because a man had vomited in the parking lot just outside the door. He showed us to a table and left, the the waitress came to wait on us, I asked to speak to the manager. When the manager came I told her that a man had vomited outside by the door, she said she would take care of it. We ordered the same two egg breakfast her with bacon mine with sausage. Coffee was not to my liking, it had a very strong hickory taste. It did not take long to receive our meal, and the waitress was polite. Hashbrowns were cold and very oily, wife's were same and squishy in the middle, also had old grease taste. My sausage links were slightly warm and had a bad taste like it was slightly spoiled, I couldn't eat them. My wife said her bacon was cold and tasted stale like. I decided to eat the eggs with my toast, not happening, the toast was buttered with old tasting oil. The atmosphere was not comfortable due to high humidity and everything felt tacky and warm. It's like the aircondition was off all night and they turned it on at opening. We arrived at around 8:30m. Told waitress about meal and she was apologetic actually took hashbrowns off the ticket, I offered to pay the whole bill but she insisted. We got up and went the door, yes vomit still there. Looks like they threw some water on it and scattered it a little. This is our honest review and first and only visit. Hope you have a better one than we did, there were others we noticed that did not eat their meal. There were some that ate it all, maybe for a cleansing. On 7/12/2020 I decided to go eat at this establishment with my wife. The food was incredible, and the service was also incredible... Although if you would like for tips to be added to your card even after you pay cash tips then this is the place for you. My wife noticed a extra tip added to our card the day after in the pending section from our bank, so like anyone she called at 8:03am everything seemed to be good the lady who answered the phone printed off, confessed to the error, agreed to fix it, and give the error to the manager for him to call back. We have yet to hear from the manager, so my wife called today 12:20pm 7/14/2020 to have this issue resolved and to speak with him. This time a gentleman answered the phone and placed her on a 8 minute hold and then hung the phone up( we believe this to be the manager). When my wife called them back at 12:29pm, and 12:34pm the phone rang”busy tone”. Then finally when she tried again at 12:40pm a lady answered and said “the manager is very busy and he will try to call her back”, then my wife advised them that she will be by their establishment tomorrow to speak with him in person... she was then advised that he is always busy but she can try between 12-1 (lunch rush) to reach him in person if he is there. It seems as if they’ve had this problem before with whomever added a tip, or they are in desperate need of extra money I’d definitely advise anyone who has eaten here to check receipts or pay with cash.

With this event I don’t plan to do business with this company anymore, hopefully they don’t do the same thing to other people.

Fact is we are not in struggle for the extra tip, we believe in having morals and that theft isn’t the way to go. Hopefully this will bring light to evaluate your staff, and management for customer service (even when they are not sitting in front of you eating a meal) and petty theft to your “valued customers...

It was really bad. No way of sugar coating the experience. First off, we get there at 8:15 and instead of our server asking us how we were doing, he asked if we were having as bad of a day as him. He continued to explain how he had been there all day and only made $36 in tips (I wonder why). He takes our order and when the cook told him the food was up, he scoffed and walked to get it. I’m not too sure why that was such a burden considering we were his only table and he was just folding silverware. He then sets the food down and immediately walks away not asking how it looked or anything. Had he asked, we could have told him that I did not receive my pancakes and my boyfriend’s chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes was a sad stale chicken fried steak swimming in the sea of liquid they call “mashed potatoes”. I have accidentally added and extra cup of water to my pot of instant mashed potatoes at home and still managed to get firmer ones than those. After the waiter asked how everything was, we told him really bad and he laughed saying “for real”. Like yeah my guy, for real. He said that the cook has been working a long shift and is tired. I’m sorry, I thought you were supposed to put out good quality food no matter how long you have been at work. Maybe I just set my standards too high expecting Mama’s to be a good restaurant.
