My bridesmaids hosted a bridal shower for me at Texas music city just this past October. My bridesmaids had been working on this event for several months, and everything had been confirmed. Invites had already gone out with the venue’s address. Then, the day before the event, I received a call from a hostess, unfortunately, I can’t recall her name but she informed me that the owner, Marsha, had decided Texas Music City apparently does not hold private events. She told me that I would need to cancel the shower, which was a complete shock. The hostess even mentioned she was unaware of this rule and had actually thought it was the opposite. I asked to speak with Marsha directly, and the conversation was appalling. She was rude and dismissive, making me feel completely unwelcome. I finally told her I didn’t even feel comfortable having the event there anymore due to how unprofessional and uninviting the whole interaction was. Mind you, this was a daytime event when the private room is free for events until a specific time in the evening. To make matters worse, Marsha told me that if I still wanted to proceed with the event, I’d have to meet a minimum spending requirement. Of course, I was planning on ordering drinks and appetizers, but to be given this ultimatum last minute without any prior notice was not only rude but completely uncalled for. The only positive was the hostess who had helped schedule the event. She was forced to come in on her day off as punishment for what had happened, and she was visibly upset. She actually cried while apologizing, despite the fact that none of this was her fault. Had it not been for the fact that invitations had already been sent out and it was the day before the event, I would have canceled right then and there. This was an awful, stressful experience, and it completely ruined what was supposed to be a joyful occasion. Neither I nor my bridesmaids, who worked hard on this event, will ever return to Texas Music City, and we certainly won’t be recommending...
Read moreI actually had the 10 oz smoked ribeye, but did not see that option. We had a very large party (20+) and had a reservation. We came in and had they had our table set up and ready for us even though we got there a little early. We really didn't have a large enough table and ended up having to add a table to accommodate the whole party. Our table had a huge post up against one side of it. The manager came out and told us that we had to move our table to the other side of this huge post. Since one end of the table was against the wall, this put one side a table for 20+ so close to the wall that everyone had to get up for anyone at the end that was against the wall to get out to use the restroom. Since we didn't get food for 2 hours, that was an issue. Our waitress Alexxus was great. Very personable and running hard to try to take care of our huge party by herself. She would have been able to do a better job if the manager was not constantly griping at her (yes, Mr. Manager, we saw). He had her very flustered from beginning to end starting with the table move. Now to the food. Don't order the salmon. It is a child's plate for $18 and the salmon was way overcooked. My husband ordered this and opted not to eat it. I ordered the smoked ribeye (med). It had no flavor and the texture of a porkchop. It required sauce to make it edible. The "sauted" green beans are not sauted, so if you don't care for canned green beans still in the juice with some onions, peppers and bacon added to dress it up, steer clear. Others in our large party were disappointed in their food as well. The ones that had the chicken fried chicked said it was good. No one enjoyed their steaks. Overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience that I have no intention of repeating. That manager needs to be fired and replaced with someone that knows how to treat both...
Read moreI went to Texas Music City Grill & Smokehouse Tyler two weekends ago with four of my girlfriends for a much needed date night. All of us girls either work, are moms, in school, or a combo of all, and we do not have the opportunity to spend enough time with one another much less get out of the house. We made reservations a few weeks in advanced for our girls datenight and when we arrived, Texas Music took us right out to a patio table. Although we came on a Saturday night, they made sure to keep our reservation on time. Mary was our server and she informed us in two hours there was going to be live music playing outside at the patio. We really was not sure if we were going to stay for two hours; we ended up staying for well over two hours because of how wonderful the food was, how good the drinks were, how much we laughed, but most of all, how well Mary took care of us. Our table was always bused, drinks never ran out, food was served hot and fresh, and Mary had us laughing all night. Mary really made our night enjoyable. We did not have any idea about what we wanted to eat or drink because we were so wrapped up in conversation but thankfully Mary was knowledgeable (and patient lol) and she was able to help us decide. I had the king ranch bloody mary, a few other amazing drinks (one was blue), shrimp tacos, and we had about four different appetizers. We tried about nine different drinks between the table and all of Mary's recommendations were wonderful. That bloody mary though was like a whole meal and the drink was so good. We will absolutely be back on our next girls...
