The food was superbly delicious, except for the stringy and overcooked/over-seasoned fries. The prices were too high for the calamari, risotto, beet, and cheesecake. Make a reservation and let them know, then, whether or not you want to sit inside or outside, because they are super busy and super packed. If you do not clarify at time of making your reservation, of where you want to sit, you will be seated wherever they choose, when you arrive. It is too late, then, to ask to be seated where you’d like to sit—inside or out. There is not much room inside the building, so the tables next to you are too close. Outside seating seems roomier and quieter, which is ideal. The music was way too loud! The noise from all the patrons talking was already too loud. The music was too much. Even when the music stopped, for a moment, it was still hard to hear people at our own table. They should simply keep the music off. The staff were friendly, patient, and very busy. It is good to be busy and making money. We had delicious Calamari, superbly delicious Crab Risotto, delicious Crab Rolls with not-good, stringy, overcooked/over-seasoned fries, a beet salad/not salad (see below), and a delicious cheesecake slice, for dessert. The Beet Salad was NOT a salad, but rather an overpriced, small plate with a few pieces of cut beet, drizzled with some kind of dressing. Do not order it, even if they say it is delicious. It was good, but neither a salad nor for a good price. I am not even sure if it was a whole beet.

I got a special treat for Father’s Day, a chance to try a new restaurant and see all of my children and their significant others. Our county seat is in Ukiah and this restaurant is on the north side downtown. It is an interesting area with good food and shopping. This location is fun and bright and had a great deal of activity. We were greeted and quickly sat. My kids are full of questions and the staff handled them wonderfully. We tried a diverse sense of meals Rock Cod Picatta, my son’s choice was crisp, perfectly cooked and fabulous. My eldest and her husband had the seafood tower, it was amazing and super fresh like it was just caught that day. The filet my daughter had was cooked to perfection, rich and hearty with tasty scallops. Her BF had the seafood bake which reminded me of boils from the south, it was a meal fit for a king. I am a fan of short ribs and they are one of the most underrated of meats, plus probably tough to cook by how different they can be. LeftCoasts were tender and able to be separated by a fork alone, a super choice. I had the lobster tale and split it between my kids. I was told this was an offshoot of Scoma’s, a place I would not miss when I was in San Francisco, this Ukiah jewel has joined that list. I totally forgot about what I liked best from the experience and 🫵 might all laugh, but I’m infatuated with French Fries. A must for you to order here is the Poseidon Fries which we devoured in less than a minute. ❤️

We took a weekend girlfriend trip to a nearby hot spring and came here for dinner. The place was packed on a Saturday night, but we were seated quickly at two open seats by the big window facing the street. The seating was parallel, next to each other, which we didn’t mind. For our appetizer, we ordered the Ceviche Tostada, which was quite good—the fish was really fresh. For entrées, we got the Linguine & Clams and the Left Coast Cioppino to share. The linguine came with a generous amount of fresh clams and was well-prepared with a buttery, lemony sauce. However, the Cioppino was a bit disappointing—it had a small portion of seafood and only two slices of bread. When we asked for more bread, it took over 15 minutes to arrive, and we were given just three half-slices, which cost an additional $7. Considering the Cioppino itself was $41 with a limited amount of seafood, it didn’t feel like a great value. For dessert, we initially wanted the Tiramisu, but it was sold out, so we ordered the Apple Fritter instead. It was just okay—mostly dough with small pieces of apple. It felt more like fried dough with a chocolate dipping sauce than a true apple fritter. Overall, the food here is good, but the service could be improved.

My dining experience at this restaurant was excellent, and I absolutely recommend grabbing a bite to eat here. I am eager to return and try other dishes as soon as I can. My practice with internet reviews has led me further towards rating restaurants as either a five or a one star experience, and yet I feel as though this restaurant if properly rated, would be a step above other restaurants in Ukiah. This was a 5(+1) star experience.

I ordered the calamari as a starter, it was deep-fried with a light flaky breading. The calamari was prepared and cooked perfectly with a soft, with an easy to bite through texture, bite sized cuts, and cleaned thoroughly and properly. The dish was served with three dipping sauces: cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, and an aioli. I was pleased with each dipping sauce and found them to be flavorful yet humble as they did not overpower the palate when paired with the calamari. -Best calamari I've had in Ukiah.

My next plate was the Sea Bass "Catch of the Day" which was cooked with precision and served with a delicious tomato and caper sauce. The sea bass was flaky and moist with a crisp layer of skin, it was quite exciting to eat as I had not been treated to fish cooked so expertly in a long time. The tomato/caper sauce was perfectly balanced for the fish and enhanced the experience of eating a well cooked filet. This dish was served with a side of roasted squash and roasted colored carrots which were seasoned well and almost superb, but the carrots could have been cut smaller to cook more thoroughly and maintain a more consistent texture with the squash. Finally, the sea bass was served over a plain short grain white rice which I felt enhanced the texture of the fish but could have been something more, even a simple garnish of a fresh sprig of basil or parsley. The Sea Bass was 5/5 with a 4/5 side served over a 3/5 rice. I am, however, comfortable rating the overall dish a 9/10.

Finally, my coworker ordered the fish and chips and allowed me to have a few bites of his food. I must make this absolutely clear: The fish, for the third time, was prepared and cooked expertly. This was beer battered fish prepared in a way that I have not been able to find since my visit to the UK years ago, and I am so excited to have something like this available in ukiah; I cannot wait to return. The chips were flavorful but oily, which was rather unfortunate considering how absolutely immaculately the fish was prepared. Oily fries can stem from improper prep to overcooking and I hope when I return for some fish and chips of my own that they have this one ironed out!

I got the sense that the atmosphere of this new restaurant is still developing, although I quite enjoyed the outdoor seating and felt comfortable eating outside.

My waitress was named Val and she was an excellent server, worth every penny of tip. Val, if you read this I usually experience service like this in the city, and it was quite refreshing to have someone so knowledgeable and professional serving my table. Looking forward to returning to this establishment.

In summary, please give this place a go. Seafood is not cheap, but when it's done with such exceptional care it is a real treat. Nearly everything about my dining experience was outstanding and it is nice to finally have a place I feel confident recommending to...
