I have wanted to try this place for quite a while now. When I arrived there was no front host so my party had to wait for some time. The extended wait period did give me time to take in the atmosphere of the restaurant. Although it had nice decor the lighting was so dim it was difficult to really take it in. When seated we were nestled in the far back corner of the room against the performance platform and speakers. It was even darker back there. Although we were brought to our table we were given warm water in ice less glasses that I suspect was from tap. The staff stated that they would be right with us to take our order. They did not return. It was after quite some time waiting we decided to use the digital order option. I do prefer to have interaction with staff but thought it would get things moving. Placing the order using the app was easy. After that it was another long wait for our order. This gave me time to notice that we couldn’t see any decor from our table. At this point my expectations of the fare were weary. Much to my delighted surprise the beverages and appetizers arrived. I tried the stout beer and found it very enjoyable. As well as two types of Mimosa wich were ok but Prosecco tasted a little flat. The small dishes we’re also very good. We had the fried pickles. They had a great crunch. Also we had the cheese bread. So good it was hard to share. We also enjoyed the Brussel sprouts. I had a few things I really wanted for try but settled on the bison burger. I was not disappointed. It was made exactly as I ordered on the app. I also had the sweet potato fries. The little baskets were fun and made the plate inviting. I really liked how the waffle cut maintained a super crunch. I also ate the prawn pasta. It was just right and paired nice with the crostini. Next dessert. I ordered three of the items that welcomed from the case as I first entered. This preceded a long wait and an uncomfortable interaction with another staff. They were dismissive and generally rude. I was finally able to collect my desserts. They were delicious! I truly enjoyed everything I ate. Which is why it was even more disappointing that the staff was inattentive and generally inhospitable. So if you go there you may enjoy the food but make sure you have time to wait. And the fortitude for the demeanor...
Read moreDisaster. Went tonight with two 12 year old boys who just finished playing basketball. Restaurant was not crowded at all. Seated quickly, waters arrived quickly, waiter was cordial and nice. Ordered a veggie burger no aioli, a hamburger no lettuce tomato or onion and a side of fries. Several other couples arrived within 10 minutes after we placed the order. 30 minutes pass no food. Waiter cheerfully says “just a few minutes” but notices the folks who came in 10 minutes after us were halfway done with their pizza and then asks me “didn’t they come in after you?” I said yes they did. Waiter says he’s going back to the kitchen to make sure we are getting our food. The two boys are starving now and I’m frustrated. Another 5 or so minutes and I go to find the waiter to tell him we need to take it to go. He looks a bit upset and offers to go to the kitchen again. Comes back to tell me they’re plating our food. I said no, we’ve got an hour and a half drive so I can’t wait any longer. He leaves and comes back with the check but no food and says “they’re boxing it up right now.” Offers me a discount and another apology. Another 10 minutes pass and we’re at the 50 minute mark for two burgers and a side of fries. I lost my patience and went back to the kitchen where the waiter was standing. He offers another apology but no food. I looked through the window to see that they weren’t boxing my burgers. The kitchen staff seemed to be operating at half-speed. I did something I never do, I yelled through the window “Box those burgers NOW!” They all seemed shocked and the waiter and another waitress who was there said “I don’t blame you!” They box the burgers and I leave with the two boys. Get halfway down state street heading to the 253 when one of the boys says that they put onions, lettuce and tomato on his burger...a ton of onions at that. When I arrived home and examined my soggy, cold burger, aioli was dripping off the sides. Total fail...
Read moreFood and beer was tasty and the location was great, but the service left a lot to be desired. I was on a road trip with my dog and have found that breweries tend to be dog friendly so we stopped in for lunch. It was a very hot day, but the outdoor seating was shady and had misters so we sat out there.
When we got there the host told us he would be right out with a bowl of water for the dog. We were the only ones out there and sat there for a good 20 minutes and not a single person came by. I finally placed an order using the mobile ordering app at the table for water and a beer. I would have ordered food, but it would not let me customize anything.
When a server delivered the drinks, I asked her for a bowl of water for the dog, which she got. I forgot to order the food at that point and assumed she would come by again eventually. I was wrong.
After another 40 minutes, a full hour after I had arrived, I finally went online to the ordering app and ordered another glass of water just to get someone to come out. When a different person than the first server finally did about 5 minutes or so later, they took my order. Almost 30 minutes later my pizza was delivered by yet another different person.
During the 2 hours I was there, a total of three people came out to the patio, and each time it was only because I had very specifically and intentionally done something to bring them out there such as ordering on the online app or delivering my food.
It didn't seem overwhelmingly busy, I think it was just a very hot day and since I was the only one on the patio, no one either felt like coming out to check on me or remembered that I was there. I stopped at the front desk on the way out to pay, and left. I'm not sure I would ever go back, whereas the pizza was very tasty and the beer was cold, I'm not sure that balances out the...
